As for Meatloaf, meh, his terrible performance speaks for itself. No one in their right mind would ever book that fat piece of shit after seeing what he dished up.

The NRL put the AFL to shame in attracting big names for entertainment.

The NRL had Kelly Clarkson this year did they not? Whilst unlike Meatloaf, her voice is still good, the collection of songs she has to draw from is hardly up to scratch.

Let's hope he succeeds in convincing artists not to perform at the GF (although frankly it's hard to believe he has friends in the industry who would listen to him), and we stop with this pre-game music bullshit.

Meatloaf's stance is only likely to deter other acts in a similar position to himself, those that are past it and still performing on reputation as opposed to talents which have long-deserted them. I can only see it as a good thing.

There's nothing wrong with the idea of pre-match entertainment, I could think of easily 20 artists that would probably come much cheaper than Meatloaf, have a far wider appeal, and put on a much better show that would make it a worthwhile exercise. Decent pre-match entertainment can actually make for a good spectacle (much like a morning curtain-raiser would too).

Unfortunately what's currently happening is just Demetriou going power crazy because it means he gets to meet his musical idols.

A little insane? He is a grade A nutjob. Laughed so hard watching that interview where he was bagging the AFL. But mind you, majority of "famous people" think they're above everyone else in the world and that it revolves around them sadly

Maybe now the AFL will be more compassionate towards Carlton in relation to recruiting Stephen O'Reilly to the club.

O'Reilly kicked one goal for Carlton which is more than correct notes that Meatloaf hit.

Yes, they'd be popular and entertaining. 75% of the people at the ground wouldn't even know what they are saying/screaming, or even be aware who they are.

If local bands were to be used, it needs to be someone everybody would know. Get Midnight Oil back, or Chisel.
