Merge two clubs to make the ultimate unbeatable team

Imagine if we had a league where the best players can join forces for 2 teams and play each other.

Won't happen but it almost makes sense to go with

Brisbane/Gold Coast
Sydney/GWS
West Coast/Fremantle
Adelaide/Port Adelaide
Melbourne/St Kilda
Hawthorn/Richmond
Collingwood/Carlton
Essendon/North Melbourne
Geelong/Bulldogs

Would make for an interesting few matches.

Melbourne and Port I reckon best balanced merged team!
And yes I have too much time on my hands!
Good luck stopping this team

Fritsch Dixon. Petracca

Powell-pepper. Marshall. Viney

Langdon. Oliver. Horne- Francis

Houston. Lever. Brayshaw

Aliir-Aliir. May. Salem

Ruck: Gawn rozee. Butters

Interchange. Pickett. Wines. Drew. Bergman
Geelingwood Catpies

FB: Quaynor Moore Howe

HB: Stewart J.Henry Noble

C: J.Daicos De Goey Holmes

HF: Adams J.Cameron Miers

FF: Elliot Hawkins Stengle

FOL: D.Cameron Pendlebury N.Daicos

IC: Sidebottom Close Blicavs Crisp Rohan(sub)

Collingwood spread the load well but obviously their forward line is where they could improve (it's not just points scored as Geelong were top 2 or 3 for many years on that with a poor forward line). With N.Daicos essentially permanently in midfield another elite half back flanker would complete them, while Geelong lack a lockdown small. Geelong also have a midfield weakness. A few positions could easily change but this or a couple of other combinations would be a really strong side.

No room for the likes of Maynard, Mitchell, Guthrie and Smith?

Wowee!

Edit: and Dangerfield! And Duncan!

Although rivals in past years, the best team for freo to merge with would be the cats.
More big bodies around the ball and fwd line are freo needs.
Haven’t watched a lot of footy this year so apologise in advance for oversights.

Yeah, but no games at Kardinia Park.

This is easily the best combination of teams. The best team last year and the best team this year. Daicos + Dangerfield + De Goey = 100 point win against any team.

There are a number of very good players from both teams that will miss out, but the one that I would add is Rohan. I think he is our barometer and almost our most important player now in a weird way. He's so underrated.

Hardwick, Ellis, Chol and Dusty
2024-2026 threepeat coming and Dusty has 6 Norms
Don’t forget Lynch, Prestia and I reckon we can get Caddy out of retirement.

Edit: and how could I forget Corey Ellis, Anthony Miles and Oleg Markov 💪

Carlendon Bluebombers

HF: Stringer - Curnow - Langford
FF: Wright - Mckay - Motlop
Fol: Draper - Cripps - Merrett

Int: Docherty - Parish - J. Martin - Caldwell

Probably a bit unbalanced in terms of talls/smalls in the forward line but neither team has any great smalls currently.

For a team with 32 flags there's only one premiership player in the team :O
