Sorry to intrude,
Tigers are still a massive chance,
Personally I will not rule them out.
As Michaels alluded to the injuries have opened up for more talent to get a taste of AFL.
Gets me thinking without the injuries would we have seen the talent that the Tigers are developing?
Sydney Stack for me is a standout and also Ross.
Definitely forced our hand. Reckon one or two would’ve come through and held down a spot but nowhere near the level of development we’ve had.

Only 8 AFL listed players playing today. The bye couldn't have come at a better time as I've never seen a VFL side this decimated.

The fact the VFL side sits atop the ladder is unbelievable. The seniors have lost mostly the best players but there’s a few of the elite still there. The VFL team loses all of its best players no matter what.

We are no certainties to beat the Saints even with players back. They’d been out for so long, odds are they’ll take a couple weeks to find their touch.

I’m still confident we make finals but not sure how far we can go as I don’t think our best 22 is good enough to beat the best couple teams anyway

After the injury to Rance,I felt really down in the dumps and wondered if we could win another 2 games let alone 6 so mid point, with every injury problem hitting us to our best players mind you,to be at the bye with 7 wins is a great effort,I know the club will be disappointed in a few areas still,we did have our chances in the North and Crow matches but our raw back line is starting to get monstered without the general Rance being there to take some pressure off.

With a full list ,we would definately be up the top though I feel not with the dominance of last year because the new rules are like a turbo being detached from the Richmond engine,we will win games but not with that extra amount of defensive ferocity and speed of last year.

Last 3 losses have set us back in terms of a top 4 finish but we have played North with their backs to the wall,a new coach and everything to prove,Geelong, who are the benchmark so far and a strong Adelaide team rebounding back from some poor form earlier in the year.

After the bye,we have some real winnable games and with the week’s rest can refuel the players and get some needed ones back.

Very early days to write the Tigers off.

Winning the saints and sun's games after the bye are absolute musts. The trick will be not carrying too many players that are under done.
Hope we learnt this from the Prelim last year and we rotate the guys out who need the week to freshen up ready for a good crack at finals.

Look, here's how it's gonna go.

Round 15 vs St Kilda: With Cotchin, Lambert, Edwards and Astbury back in the side, we manage to grind out a 5 goal win

Round 16 vs Gold Coast: Short comes back into the side and we pull away in the last quarter for a 40 point win. Lynch best on ground against his old side.

Round 17 vs GWS: Nankervis and Riewoldt return to the side and we beat GWS in a tough, wet slog. 3 goal win.

Round 18 vs Port Adelaide: Jack Ross returns to the side and we get a 4 goal win over Port. We're starting to look ominous and are announced as genuine Premiership contenders.

Round 19 vs Collingwood: Unsurprisingly, after the media talks us and our 11-6 record up, Collingwood smash us in the middle and we lose by 27 points. We sit just above 100%

Round 20 vs Melbourne: Marlion Pickett makes his AFL debut and we thump the Demons by 56 points.

Round 21 vs Carlton: A regulation 100 point win is celebrated in full, with Damien Hardwick announcing in his press conference that Alex Rance will be returning from his ACL and playing next week.

Round 22 vs West Coast: A full strength Richmond proves too good for the Eagles. We are now premiership favourites. 37 point winners. The media starts talking about our dream run with injuries.

Round 23 vs Brisbane: The Lions need to win this to make the top 8, and they play like it. But a Dustin Martin goal in the final minute sinks Brisbane hearts as we lock away a top 4 finish.

We finish the home and away season in 4th position with a percentage of 110, playing Geelong in the Qualifying Final.

I have a feeling that we will finish in the top 4. We have only two games away from the MCG. St Kilda and Gold Coast. Get through those games with wins and then we pack the MCG against the non-Victorian sides GWS, Port Adelaide, West Coast and Brisbane to hopefully drag our team over the line. We then do to Melbourne and Carlton what we did the first time.

There would then be only one team left - Collingwood. Technically this would be the only upset win in the home stretch if you take into account both ladder position and the ground we play on. I believe we can upset them to sneak into 4th place.

Basically, I see this year’s top 4 race for us as 2014’s top 8 race. Far away but lowkey possible. We just need to worry about our own wins and remember that this is a side that won 18 games in last year’s H&A season. Winning 9 games in a row has not scared us in the past so I think it’s possible for us to do it again.

In the next 4-6 weeks we will see the return of Cotchin Edwards Astbury Lambert Nankervis Riewoldt Short & Ross which will then create the headache of trying to fit all of them into the side as they are all thereabouts for being best 22.

When you add in those coming back from injury the side could look something like this:

B: Garthwaite Astbury Grimes
HB: Short Vlastuin Houli
C: Ellis Cotchin McIntosh
HF: Lambert Lynch Baker
F: Martin Riewoldt Caddy
R: Nankervis Prestia Edwards
INT: Ross Stack Balta Higgins

Which is a fairly strong looking side on paper and would win it's fair share of games.

However in the interest of long term development and future success I'd like to see us line up like this for the rest of the year

B: Houli Garthwaite Grimes
HB: Short Astbury Stack
C: Ellis Ross McIntosh
HF: Cotchin Lynch Martin
F: Bolton Riewoldt Rioli
R: Nankervis Vlastuin Prestia
INT from: Caddy Lambert Balta Edwards Baker Graham Higgins Naish Butler Castanga Broad Soldo Chol

I believe that making finals with this line up would put us in a better position to contend for the premiership as we'd take some of the pressure off of Cotchin and Martin being our go to midfielders meaning they hit the finals feeling fresher and not as banged up. We could then unleash them in the finals when other teams mids are feeling the pinch a bit.

In addition to that we also would have got some more development into Ross, we get a good look at Vlastuin as a midfielder, we move away from the small forward high pressure game plan and start to migrate towards a more traditional set up and structure, with 2 KPF, 2 mid sized options and 2 X factor small forwards.

Hardwick spoke about a change that we've been training for and it will take a little bit of time to implement properly, which I believe has to do with the return of those injured players that has meant we're unable to use it to it's fullest extent at the moment. IMO we've seen a glimpse of the changes in the Fremantle Hawthorn and Adelaide games where we started to become more of a hold possession and control the ball team rather than a run and gun move it forwards at all costs team.

Remember that Marlion Pickett, a 27 year-old midfielder/half back, is also on the injury list. He could potentially give us the mature midfield presence we need to do some damage in the finals. It’s a finger injury, so I think he’d still have his fitness

Stop it!

You are making me moist!

A few have written us off v GWS, but they’re form at the G is ordinary and by that stage we’ll have a few back.
We’d be a genuine chance no doubt.

Mate we were a chance against the crows...i'd say with a few of our injured back and rested we are a very good chance to shape the Ladder post bye!

I cant wait until we play Geelong in their 'home 'final at the MCG and we smash them. I cant hack the Geelong media. That idiot John Anderson writing us off without any consideration for our injury predicament. He , like prima donna , virtue signaller Watley , Russell and Hudson are so worried about Richmond, it's delicious and they know we will peak at the right time. Lets never forget their arrogance to us.

I for one reckon the injury run has been the best thing to happen to Richmond for a long, long time. Out of adversity comes opportunity. Out of opportunity comes success.
