After broughts outstanding game last nite.can he move into the midfield period? Will harvs shift him down back again, next week? I hope harvs leaves broughts in the midfield.our team is just crying out for someone who can get that 30 + disposals capability.broughts only slight knock, is his lack of break away pace.

if barlow and mundy are out..... midfield, otherwise in the backline

There are 5 possible positions in the midfield, can't se why he can't fit in if he plays as well as he did last night

Broughton would be the perfect tagger. He would be able to shut down the number 1 midfielder as he has the defensive side of him game sorted. I'd also be confident in him being just as damaging going the other way. But I doubt we will see Broughton being settled in any given position with the injury list we have.

Anything that would see Pav spending more time in the forward line.

Also maybe gives a Buco/Sibo/etc a good shot in the backline.

With our backline being strengthened after the bye,the midfield is where we have to step up as we all know.broughts has shown he can play beautifully through the midfield.isn't the game decided by the midfield?

With mzungu returning and Roger back, we can afford to dedicate him to the midfield.
He's well on his way to becoming the next mundy, good thing too if the real mundy is out for the season.

Not sure if Mzungu is showing enough hardness to replace Broughton in the backline, just yet. But I would love to see Brought's in the midfield more, especially if it allows Pav to go forward more.

Reckon we've got enough taggers. Let him tag to learn the midfield roles, as part of his learning and development. But not to be our go-to tagging option. We have Crowley and DeBoer who can both do this.

That's true, but his rebounding, skills and read of the play is about par. Roger brings a bit if that hardness back, the level headedness.

agree, let him play offensively. He is suprisingly good around goals and runs very hard by the look of it. Palmer appears to be a good tagger who can also get a fair bit of the ball and Deboer seems to be able to shut down some of the best opposition.

Yep, i can definitely see broughts moving full time into the midfield ala mundy.
Mundy, barlow and broughts in the guts, solid.

Broughton should have been played in the midfield since the start of the year. Same with Palmer. Constantly switching players around does them no good, especially when they are young and need to develop skills working together.

Barlow, Broughton, Palmer, Mundy, Hill, should all line up consistently in the midfield.

He was given a bit of stick last year when we tried him in the mid. He showed a bit then, but has really learned how to play there. Just goes to show that sometimes you need to be patient with players as they learn their play. Clarke's going through this at the moment.

I always thought Broughton looked the goods to be a quality midfielder. Has put in a couple of quality performances in that role this year.

Seems like a waste to me given he is a creative player and as you say, his defensive side is already strong.

One of the problems with our team is that we move players around too much. Versatility is important but so is consistency. We have too many players rotate through the midfield, we need to stick with the big guns the majority of the time and this will allow Pav to play more forward.

Ever since 09 Broughton has shown that he has got exactly what it takes to be a very damaging midfielder. With Roger back, Silvagni and Ibbo playing half back it's a great time to release broughts to the midfield. His last month has been fantastic.

One of my favourite players since 09
