He had his surgery back before Christmas...
Yeah, but I remember something about Morabito's being a hybrid graft Lars and hamstring. So it would take longer.

Depends, if he is playing with authority in the WAFL they will get him in. He's a beast.Back playing footy in around 4 weeks. Will prob struggle to break into our team before the end of the season.
They do this every week.Thats good news, thanks mate
Bruise free footy, nice way to ease him back into it.Bring him in as the sub for home game in round 9 vs Melbourne![]()

oh, how quickly we forget...
this is the guy who arguably came back into full contact ( with hindsight ) a little too early and look what happened.
You do realise with LARS the recovery process is a lot quicker than the standard procedure. Once Mora is back running and joining with the main group he should be ready for the WAFL to make a case for senior selection.oh, how quickly we forget...

He's now just walking and lightly jogging in straight lines and a few people are talking about bringing him back into AFL football mid-season ? I think we all need to temper our expectations of Mora this year, personally I'd be happy to see him run around in Peel colours by years end.

Need to have a look at all the other footballers that have had LARS and average out there comeback from surgery.
Don't think we'll have to wait too long to see mora playing for Peel again.

I'm completely aware - and I know that you also know it was a hybrid operation that varies form other LARS surgeries seen in AFL so far.
I was saying to friends prior to his second breakdown this preseason that he was rushing things too early - hindsight shows that going into a full contact drill after fatigue running was probably not ideal in the latter stages of rehab. I've had a traditional reco myself and know that when fatigued is the time when your supporting muscles are most likely to 'switch-off' leading to subsequent damage or further injury.
My point is , even though technically speaking the textbook says he can run at 4 weeks, train at 6 or whatever the milestones are how about we actually allow each building block to be suitably 'ticked off' ( note Sandi reference ) along the way and have an extra 4 weeks, 2 months or whatever it is of rehab considering we may see him play for another 6-8 years. it's short term time sacrifice for long term gain and I think this is sometime overlooked in professional sports when the focus is about getting 'competitive edge' and 'pushing the forefronts' . I'm all for the radical surgury - not for the radical recovery time
...snip... suggesting we temper the expectation of his prompt return to AFL
PerthNow/Hun have Morabito listed as season under injuries. I checked the club and it says TBD. Has anyone heard anything? Wouldn't be surprised if the club has just said sorry mate controlled training for the rest of the year.
Firstly, I knew having a cautious opinion of mora's rehab would stir this now long running discussion we've all been having. I'm not stupid, I know what I say in here is never going to influence anyone at the club or the medical staff or Mora so to be blunt I don't care if your opinion differs from mine, I was just stating my reasons in short form what I thought/hoped is happening within the club re Mora's rehab.
I'm no doctor and never professed to be one. I said I'd been through an ACL reco myself and that's my only experience with it.
I'm not saying cotton wool him. I said that in each phase of his recovery we should consider holding him at that point for longer. The theory being the body becomes aclimatised to each level of progression when the load is stepped up. Pretty simple attitude but I think basics need to be considered now he's going through this the third time around.
For those that say there was no contact when the second occurred you are right. But have a look at the video, Mora fluffs a kick in a half field drill. He then realises he needs to make up for said fluffed kick so sprints to a contest, misjudges the tackle, puts the leg out to turn at almost full pace and whammo. Now I'm guessing when he entered this contact drill and others as part of the rehab process ( yes, he was still in rehab phase and from memory had just completed running time trials hence my earlier reference to fatigue ) the medical staff would have been telling him to hit maybe 90% pace max or temper his movement somewhat - but try doing that when you're a stallion like Mora, he fluffed it, he got angry, he ran hard, he did all the instictual things a competitor would do in that situation....unfortunately to his own detriment.
We can hypothesize that if he wasn't in that environment at that stage then we might not be writing this now.
All I said re my radical training time call was hold the reins back some more, I'm hopeful the club is and I still stand by the call to have him running longer than the normal LARS recovery time, have him in wafl a couple of games more and sacrifice the short term time loss of him not playing in purple for the long term good of having multiple more seasons - it's not an outragous suggestion and FFS it's his third reco so yeh, I must be crazy for suggesting we temper the expectation of his prompt return to AFL
Guys if Hannath is not the option for full forward or CHF AND can only have a go in the ruck
WTF is all the sceaming about griff needs help we must have HANNA MAN .
IF all he's good for is to sit on the bench and do a bit of ruck work there has to be a better option.
Who can we put there that is tall mobile, can take a mark and kick a few goals .
Alot of posters are saying drop him from the team because Elvis is back
Why not put him up forward and see how he goes or Taberner oh sh*t hes a rookie
Ok Duffy then
