The guernsey looks awesome. Although I think the colours should be inverted to become a predominately white guernsey not predominantly blue guernsey.

the clash guernseys are more so preferred to be white by the afl.

personally id love to see both versions. that cat looks awesome

According to the AFL we only "officially" clash with north melbourne, and that only might be for one more year until they change to their new gold coast jumper :D:D

Another version with white front and blue back

The front of that looks AWESOME! It defeats the purpose of a clash jumper to have the front white and the back dark though.

But that front is the best design yet.

By the way, I love our old style logo.

I suspect the AFL will start prodding Geelong and North to wear white shorts at home in borderline clashy situations - on the basis that "hey, it worked well in the finals..." (which it did.) It'll be the league's way of "improving" the clash situation without actually doing anything substantial.

And under the new rules of teams having both a light and a dark strip, it does make sense for the team wearing the "light" strip to be wearing the "light" shorts as well.
Totally agree. It worked very well during the finals. I think after the Collingwood game in R15 the AFL made it pretty clear that it wanted Geelong to wear white shorts and Collingwood to wear dark shorts no matter whos home game it was. I think the R20 game with North we also wore dark shorts with our away strip and North wore white shorts even though it was their home game.

Agreed I really like this one. With colors flipped either way. Not a fan of the design on page one. Looks like the hoops are wavy. Just annoys me.

I don't mind the general idea of this jumper but would prefer to see the hoops continuing all the way around the back (not really hoops otherwise). I'm sure the FORD logo could still have been integrated no problem and enough space for numbers could have been created. As far as the cat face goes as a design, I'm of the belief that it isn't quite graphic enough (too illustrative, too much white, not a fan of the wavy element above the eyes).
Also, I think the arrangement of the various logos on the front of the jumper could be a little better.

I don't mind the new jumper although the 2007 version is better. However, after looking through the new gear, I would like to see the white training jumper used as the clash jumper. I have just added the link at this stage. It is the one on the top right hand side of the screen.
I can't get the pic at this stage. If anybody wants to add it, that would be great.

Cheers FTW. That is puuurrrfect! That is the one we should be going with. That would be a great clash jumper and looks alot better than the big cat face.

We only clash with one team, the kangaroos when we play them away, which is why we need a predominately blue guernsey.

I don't understand all the talk about a white clash guernsey, Id rather the hoops any day..

I like the new Clash jumper.
But it still doesn't solve the problem.

So long as Geelong adhere to the AFL's policy of Light and Dark, that will mean their Home jumpers go with White shorts.
Tradtionalists don't understand or accept this, but that's the policy as decided by the AFL at the end of 2006.
So while the new Cats jumper looks good, it can really only be worn against North as a Clash jumper, and then, only when North are wearing their striped jumpers.

Thats exactly why I think it more of a promotional / marketing jumper as opposed to a bone-fide clash strip. Get the tills running because it looks good.

That's the AFL's policy.
They only choose not to enforce it sometimes.

If Geelong, North and West Coast use their Light jumper as their Home jumper (and they do), they should be wearing White shorts with them.
According to the AFL's uniforms policy.

Let's be honest about this. There is absolutely no need for clash jumpers.

The only people that really think so are Demetriou, the Club Treasury and Marketing departments.

The marketing departments have done a fantastic job selling us this idea that suddenly after 100 odd years of footy, we need clash jumpers.

I've read in previous posts that they're particularly needed against Collingwood and North. Give me a break. I'm not even going to bother arguing the outrageous stupidity of that.

Personally I think fans should boycott them. I realise that there's not much chance of that. ....But do you really want to buy something that in 12 months time will have nothing to do with your footy club?

Newly re-branded: Geelong Cats + Stylized Clash Jumpers = Basket Ball, not Football.
