How was it easier for Non-Victorian teams to make finals, back then? There's more Non-Victorian teams, now, so the chances increased. And Sydney continue to make finals, all the time. I think their management gave Nicks more of a grace period, because they're rebuilding, but he doesn't really have a successful background, only 1 GF as an assistant coach in a smashing with GWS, but he mostly came from Port during their Donuts era. Their history says they'll move onto another coach, and if they do miss finals, again, that'd be double the grace period time they usually allocate.
Ok.... time for a long and accurate post....

From 1995 until 2010, Non Vic sides had it easy, except for freo. All non vic sides had to do was win 12 games to make finals. 8-10 of them on the home state. Then 2-4 wins away from home, most likely against bottom 4 clubs.

Dockers only made finals 3 times out of 16 years. Adelaide, Brisbane, West coast and Sydney all made finals 8 times, made 2 grand finals and won at least 1 flag. If I added 1994 then its 2 flags for west coast (1994,2006) 2 flags for Adelaide (1997-8), 3 flags for brisbane (2001-3) and 1 flag for the swans (2005).

Port from 1997-2010 made finals 7 times out of 14 years. They made 2 grand finals for that 1 (2004) flag.

Because of a higher percentage of home matches they can win to make the finals, they were shoe-ins you're saying? Victorian teams should be the shoe-ins if it's all about home games to win. And didn't 2020 and 2021 not teach us that's almost irrelevant?

Sydney have continued to consistently make finals since 1995, only missing 5 times during it, and even The Brisbane Lions from 2019, have made finals consistently, which you didn't touch on. So, that means it's very possible for Non-Victorian teams to make finals consistently, even now.

And I highly doubt The Crows management are thinking about how disadvantaged they are with less of a chance of making finals by just winning home games from what they had 13 years ago.

We've never had a rebuild.
The funny thing is you actually believe that!

It wasn't, the Vic clubs were just poorly mismanaged as a whole🌞

Whatever happens at Richmond all the other clubs follow.

Thread title needs to be changed.

Next club sacked - 2023 edition. :)

Reminds me of when I was turning 18 and my parents ran away from home - true story.

They're going to extend Hinkley's contract for 3 more seasons, and he won't even make a Grand Final. The irony will be, you'll most likely have 3 premiership coaches who leave their gig, this year, but a non-appearing Grand Final coach of 11 seasons will continue on with nothing to show for it.

thats a bad thing right?

Doesn't look like someone who is in a position to lecture his players about self discipline.

He's just big boned you fatphobic SOB.

He has a serious history with drugs...we have a serious history with drugs...

Ahhh..it’s all water under the bridge.

Not the Canning Hwy bridge where Cuz was cleaning windscreens..the other bridge of past misdeeds, mistakes and mishaps.

Voss won't get moved on before the end of the season IMO.

At the end of the season though? He's ****ed if they keep playing like this.

The only one I could see getting sacked mid-season is Simpson, and he can at least legitimately blame an injury crisis for West Coast's direness which might save him.

If it's true what Fevola said(I know it's fev) that Carlton have already made inquiries to Hardwick if I was Voss I would walk that's incredibly disrespectful.

Where is Voss going to walk to? The best thing he can do is coach his team to victory in plenty of games. That’ll make it hard for him to be removed.
