It should be a bloody ripper game.

We are definitely the under dogs and will go in without Heater and Did's, just like last year.

Your boys have had great start but a reasonable draw.

Definitely time for an upset, like Rnd 9 2008..............

3-0 over the last two seasons in Home and Away is not a bad record either.

Cant wait! the key to us winning is foward pressure, StKildas backline has been superb all year and the key to why they are doing so well.
We need to tag Goddard for mine, hes a superstar this bloke and must be shut down.
The other is to at least make sure Fisher has a man to leave him back there all alone is a recipe for disaster and i cant beleive how stupid some coaches are in letting this happen.
Make no mistake these 2 are the keys to St Kildas form and lets just hope MM realises this and plans for it. Keep them in check and we are a chance if not i dont even want to think about it.

Man on Man, the whole game, that is the answer.

lol good stat we beat you when it counted tho.
Not really. We were never going any further in the finals. In fact we wre bloody lucky to make it in as far as we did. In the end you shot your load to get over us.....and then got r*ped by the Glenferry Gays....lol

Do you mean in last years Semi Final when Collingwood had more inside-50's and 8 more scoring shots? A Collingwood team without Didak and Shaw that in the previous week was the youngest team to win a final since Brisbane in 2000? It was always going to be difficult to win that match of course because St.Kilda is a significantly older and more experienced team. That loss enabled Collingwood to recruit Steele Sidebottom and Dayne Beams. :thumbsu:

St.Kilda will be very firm favourites next week because they are in great form currently. The match is being played on St.Kilda's home ground, even though it is a Collingwood home match. The average age and games experience of St.Kilda is considerably more than Collingwood, and Alan Didak and Heath Shaw may both miss another match, while there is an injury doubt over Paul Medhurst.

Somehow I think that many Collingwood supporters expect it to be difficult next week, so if St.Kilda wins, then it won't be too disappointing. It's disappointing to lose a match when expected to win (Adelaide and Essendon), but not when expected to lose, as long as they fight it out. If Collingwood wins however, it will just be an unexpected bonus as far as I am concerned.

Collingwood do match up well against both Geelong and St.Kilda though, so it should be St.Kilda's closest match so far this season, even with Collingwood's injury concerns. If so, then that should give Collingwood enough confidence for later in the season if they play each other again, and hopefully on the MCG. I think that Collingwood will be playing better then than they are now, which has been very up and down, and I don't think St.Kilda will be playing as well later in the season as they are currently.

I think you will find it was 6 more scoring shots and 5 of those were rushed behinds to Collingwood - Saints had no rushed behinds and completely dominated general play with 72 more possessions, 81 more marks and 20 more tackles enabling us to set up easier scoring opportunities hence our accuracy

Saints v Pies are always crackerjack affairs and this one will be no different

Looking forward to it immensely :thumbsu:

It was six more scoring shots. My mistake. Rushed behinds are counted as scoring shots, and Collingwood also had more out of bounds on the full. Most of those rushed behinds would have been scoring shots anyway, and that is why they were rushed and counted as scoring shots.
Saints had no rushed behinds
They kicked 17 goals and only 4 behinds which is unheard of. Collingwood's 9 goals 20 behinds was very wasteful.

In that match, Collingwood without Didak and Shaw were the youngest team to win a final the previous week since Brisbane in 2000. It was always going to be difficult to beat St.Kilda for a third time in one season. In both of the earlier matches, Collingwood had more possessions, more marks, and more tackles than St.Kilda, and the second match was the week following the suspensions to Didak and Shaw.

St.Kilda are a much older and more experienced side that I believe will struggle once Gold Coast enters the AFL. They don't have a lot of quality youth coming through, and they have yet to play a first year player this season. This season is their last chance for success in my opinion. Collingwood have already debuted three players this season, and there will be more to come.

Lets face it, most people think that St.Kilda will not lose next week, and I'm sure they will be very short priced favourites. If Collingwood wins with their injury concerns, and with Jack Anthony possibly missing as well, then it will be a bonus as far as I'm concerned. It should be their closest match so far this season though, and I think that Collingwood can beat St.Kilda at some stage this season. It will be tough to do it next week though.

KissStephanie I am sick of all your long drawn out excuses for justifying loses when someone else says something slightly negative about our team. We lost that game fair and square now be a (wo)MAN and take it.

What excuses? If you're a pessimist, then that is your problem. Not mine. I am a realist though, and I completely stand-by my opinion that led to your attack on me. What was wrong about my opinion to you? Collingwood did have more scoring shots than St.Kilda. Collingwood did have more inside-50's. Collingwood were the youngest team to win a final since Brisbane in 2000. It was always going to be difficult to beat St.Kilda for a third time last year without Didak and Shaw.

If you're going to attack me, then there is no need to lie as well. That is why I am putting you on ignore. I did not say at any time that Collingwood's loss to St.Kilda in last years Semi Final was not fair and square. The better team definitely won on the night, but there were reasons that contributed to it, as much as you seem to think their wasn't.

It was you that has incorrectly stated that I said that it wasn't "fair and square" when I absolutely did not say that, so put me on ignore then if you don't like what I have to say. It's easy. I will be continuing to share my opinion in my posts, and I have no intention of sharing your opinion in my posts.

Why is Nexus Helen making a thread promoting St Kildas chances?

Shouldn't he be saying something along the lines how old and shit we are?

Shouldnt have traded for Ray should we? And should def have delisted Hayes...

Not gonna bother wasting my time getting into serious dicussion in this thread cos it will probs get locked.

But yeah if a Collingwood mod could ban Nexus that'd be great!

If MM is as stubborn as he was in the Semi and refuses to tag Nick Dal then we may as well shut up shop now. Please Mick, apply a hard tag on Dalsanto and run down the bloody guts.

Love it when they come out early. Setting themselves for a huge fall.

Love posts like this - instead of acknowledging the great way St Kilda has started the season, you find any reason to denegrate them. So based on your post, you would rather be 3-3 then 6-0 or else you are setting yourself up for a huge fall . Yep, nice.

To all the fair Collingwood supporters on this board, good luck, should be a cracking game on a Monday night.

Oh, well in that case, I stand corrected :D I apologise for Nexus, we can't control his/her posts and threads, even on our own forums!

Good luck again Magpie supporters ;)

St.Kilda's zone is going to give us fits, just likes Hawthorn's last year. We simply have no answer for a properly implemented zone, and I can't see us winning this week as a result. They're in stellar form, their midfield will likely smash ours (Dal Santo, Hayes, Ball, Montagna, Goddard) and our skills are terrible at the moment (hence the zone won't be beaten).

Not trying to be negative, just realistic, Saints by 50+.

Nice story Hansel.

You need to do a little research in the comments origins however.
