Are contracts actually worth the paper they’re written on? Morang announced 4 weeks ago the resigning of JD and now he’s at Hursty. I’m sure I read comments about loyalty

Might be the difference with a 'verbal recommitted' to a 'signed contract'. Lots of clubs pushing out the 'recommitted' social media posts without the signatures I'm hearing.

Helps generate the security I would have thought. Clubs spamming signing posts at the moment for new recruits so it's in other clubs best interests to show some sort of traction amongst an exodus

Don't disagree Barrel that clubs would want to promote a positive outlook for their club, I am sure we are the same. Just suggesting that it might be difficult to walk back if it is not the case players are signed. Clubs spamming other clubs is poor form IMO.

The way the off season is working at the moment, could be a lesson for all clubs in the future, dont run before you can walk.

Macleod for me should be flag favourites. yes they had a shocker GF day, but evidently there isn't a defender in this division that can blanket Darcy Barden. They also look to have re-signed their top end players

They will add a couple as well no doubt.

Finals are a different game. Much harder for a forward to dominate against a strong team defence without the service.

Just highlighting that Macleod kicked 8 goals in 7 against Diamond Creek in the finals series. Barden kicked 1 in that time before getting some junk time consolation in the last.

Once we get an indication of who St Mary's and Macleod keep/recruits I think it'll be a lot clearer no doubt. Whittlesea's recruits and who they have kept is very hard to ignore, even with Murphy and Dimasi being big losses.

Dimassi had little impact due to injury. Murphy a big loss but the ins are significant

As the famous saying goes "Good clubs always find a way to stay a good club, no matter the minor issues". And I think this situations speaks to that, yes there may of been a few issues but I back Morang to stay a good club, because they ARE a good club.

I rate them but it’s a poor reflection upon the state of the teams in the mix for finals. Macleod, South Morang, Whittlesea, Lower Plenty, St Mary’s, Northcote Park & even Panton Hill would be very disappointing if Stars are going past them.
