That's goals mate not bests..

I only watched bits and pieces of the game so until I see the replay I can't comment

Michealanny was in the bests in the Allies game according to this Father-son prospect on fire in SA's win over Allies
I'd beg to differ as would most that actually watched the game....He had a good game but several were clearly better, Mattaes Phillipou, Isaac Keeler, Phoenix Foster Kelsey Rypstra and underager Alex Holt would have been ahead of him IMHO.

I get it the SANFL are pumping Max up because of the Crows Father/Son link through his Redlegs old man Jim.

This is a better summary of that game..

How did Michalanney look to those who watched the game today?
Was watching on and off with the crows game so will watch in more detail but looked a similar performance to last week . Nice and composed

Keeler is doing really well which is not good for our NGA matching bid prospects

#28 Tyler Welsh (Woodville-West Torrens)
15/08/2006 | 189cm | 83kg | Tall Forward

Another Croweater, another club-tied talent – this time for Adelaide as the son of Scott. Akin to his father, Welsh is a goalkicker and finished with a game-high four majors on Sunday, proving the opposite bookend to McCabe. Just as impressive aerially, he pulled down 11 marks as an unstoppable target inside 50, possessing a strong set of hands and the courage to fly at full stretch. He could have ended up with an even bigger bag with more accurate set shot conversion, but was clearly the dominant key position player afield – albeit at 189cm.

He's in our academy, so I think so.
If he can get to 194cm that would be ideal.
Should get to 192 comfortably you'd think.
Tex was only 186 when we signed him at 16. Welsh is still 15.

There's a brilliant post by a Port supporter somerwhere on this forum following Tex being drafted to the effect of "enjoy your future half forward flanker"

Calling it now, the next Tony Modra. No pressure :)

Surely means that we're going terribly and may not be that appealing currently to a sought after prospect

We've got a couple of years to present as a better destination

Personally I'm just happy we've got an ex-player and father of a talented son who we're not having a public stoush with

Our club has been a complete rabble the past 5 years.

Its two years until Welsh can nominate for the draft.

Hopefully the club is in a much stronger position when he is draft eligible so he doesn't do what Marc Murphy did in 2004 (When he become the first player to refuse to go to the club that his dad played for under the father son rules).

Marc Murphy of course was living in a different state, his dad played for Fitzroy rather than Brisbane and had been promised to go 1.

Welsh lives in Adelaide and has been a longstanding member of the Crows Academy.

Apples and Oranges.

Also, in Murphy's draft year Brisbane had finished 11th, and had played in 4 of the previous 5 grand finals. Hardly as if they were in any significant state of disarray (relative to going to Carlton)
