So how good are the Bulldogs?

A few people have written them off but they are 3 and 1 after a flag.

I thought they were pretty good on the weekend. Obviously capable of coming back, and the last quarter was excellent with intense footy from both sides. But I also thought the first quarter was very good from them. There was a period when they kept us locked in their forward line consistently. Both sides produced immense pressure in the first half.

So, despite four and none, I think that means this side traveling better than people might assume.

Giving up a 5 goal lead for the second time in 3 games is disappointing yet we still won the lead back twice in the last quarter.

Is this a sign of improvement or not?

It wasn't a capitulation at all, and thats been a problem at times. (These close losses will probably cost us but i'm thinking we might still be a chance for finals.)

Unsure if already discussed, but the handball was on to jmac with 6 seconds left.
Jmac had 30metres of space in front of him and is normally a good finisher in front of the goals.
Tough but LT's eyes would have scanned the f50 when he got the ball, shouldnt have missed him.
oh well.....

JMac was pointing to the goals instead of running into space. He should be dropped on that lame arse effort alone. THAT is the difference between us and the top sides.

With 4 seconds remaining and our penchant for handballing to a teammate's feet, plus the fact LT had had a "sighter" seconds earlier from the same spot, I'm not at all surprised JMac was waving him home.

In my perfect world LT whipped it quickly to JMac who drilled a goal off three steps though of course.

Whatever the case I bet the general commentary around our performance would've been vastly different had LT's kick sailed through two metres to the right. F***!

JMac's arm is out pointing at the goals.

Dunno if he should be running into space at that point or hanging back to defend the 50 and lock the ball in - in the last minute of the game that might be a better option. He wouldn't have known there were only a few seconds left but he would have known it was the last minute or two.

Surely in that specific case you'd back LT to make the distance and possibly goal or even expect the kick out as a result.

Its a massive difference a few metres can make...

I would expect LT to give the ball off if his teammates have better chances. Very similar shot with Goldy in front of goal early in the game and LT put it in the perfect spot (imo) for Goldy to run on to.

It would have been a fairytale ending but Lt isn't really someone who gets fairytale endings. He's a genuine battler who leaves nothing out there, which is why so many of us love him so much.
