Geelong weren't letting him go. In the end we in essence offered our 2 second rounders last year (before any changes were made) and our second rounder this year. They wanted both of our second rounders last year, plus our first rounder this year. Even then they may have moved the goalposts again. We spent an entire trade period trying to cater to their needs and they still ****ed us around.
However yes, if Geelong had of agreed to play ball I would have paid the 2 second rounders and this years first with 20/20 hindsight.
This does however also mean we wouldn't have our first rounder this year, sydney's second rounder this year or bailey williams. Not sold on either exxon or foley tbh.

Gablett will go this week. They won't let him off twice and this one is much worse, well after the ball is gone and directly front on. I reckon they call it rough conduct not striking and he goes for more than a week.

Ben Brown starting his run-up beyond the centre circle is a farce. More power to him for the accuracy, but the amount of time it eats up is surely exploitable around the league.

Nah mate I reckon he'll get a big fine, they won't suspend him for nothing. Gablett needs to calm down a bit and just play the game. He's getting a bit rough for my liking.
It'll either be the big story that covers up the shaking the post incident or the shaking the post incident being what covers up Gablett elbowing someone head high off the play front on. I see one taking up centre stage and ablett then either gets 1 week or 2-3.

I agree although despite it being off play it was near the ball. I'm getting sick of North fans booing him.
Last time it got marked down from intentional which is what saved him a week. This time it's significantly worse. Even if its only marked as striking with low impact if it's intentional he goes for a week.

Apparently there is an act of god clause in the AFL rule book to cover this and the incident from last week - he will be free to play.

Yeah I rewatched the footage it looked intentional might go for a week or just a huge fine.
