Great tip

What is going on with the umpiring today? So many non decisions for clear HTBs, and just a moment ago HTM should have gone against the Hawks.

Maybe I'm a vindictive tit but if my supported club whom I had trained with already didn't take me when available, I'd be laughing at any notion they wanted me in the future.

CONSPIRACY THEORY TIME

Hypothesis: Channel 7 don't actually like AFL and have bought the rights purely to sabotage it

Evidence:
- There were four games played today, Saturday, and only one of them was on free-to-air. Saturday is peak footy day and I had to wait until the night game to see any of it, despite the number of channels under the 7 umbrella. They have a dedicated channel for racing but can't squeeze more than one AFL game in?
- Channel 7's commentary team includes Basil Zempilas, Hamish McLaughlin and Brian Taylor. Surely no one would employ these people unless they were trying to fail
- Pay-TV is generally considered to be less useful in developing a supporter base than free-to-air due to the lower viewer numbers. No one's going to pay $50 a month to watch a sport they're not already interested in. Channel 7 know that Foxtel can't afford to buy the TV rights outright, and that if they themselves don't bid, Channels 9 and/or 10 will win the rights and show as much football as they can. Channel 7 thus purchase the rights and sell as many games on to Foxtel as they can without arousing suspicion.
- They've shown games on a day's delay
- Better Homes and Gardens is somehow more important to them than football

Motive:
There are two possible motives: Producers-style tax breaks if it they lose 2.whatever billion dollars buying the rights, or they want to destroy football. I lean towards the latter, as it's the only way to explain on-selling games to Foxtel. If they wanted to lose money, it'd make more sense to keep the games than to make some money off them.

Culprit:
We know from Amber Harrison that the bosses at 7 spend most of their time in drug-fuelled orgies. We can assume then, that they would be too strung out to come up with a plan this devious. We need someone with media influence though. Someone at Channel 7, probably a long-term employee because they've kept this up for a while now, who's familiar enough with AFL that they'd know how to sabotage it. Someone, essentially, with links on both sides of the equation. Someone who claims to love AFL but who also seems to be involved in monumental stuff ups. Stuff ups like arranging for a game to be played in China between their club and the only club in the league who plays in China's national colours, without ensuring in the contract that they wouldn't for that game. Someone... like David Koch.

The face of an evil genius.

Am I wrong? Am I just crazy? Was I just bored waiting for the oven to preheat and my pizza to cook and decided to kill some time by writing this? Only Kochie - if that is his real name - knows for sure.

Vanables will be set a very high standard by our idiot crowd. Could see him becoming a whipping boy if he ends up taking a few years to come on.
Especially if his injury woes continue. Not looking forward to it

Didn't we only get one game today because we've already had Thursday, Friday and then two games on Sunday? 5 games in a round is pretty good.
