It is a step in the right direction however in terms of recruiting, pacey genuine mid as opposed to flanker sycophantic ways..
SPP was the right pick at our first but Venables certainly can be too

I'm not knocking Venables, hopefully he stays fit and becomes an awesome player. I just think SPP could have really helped us in the next few years before our window closes. And it will close because we've had some very average drafts recently -14 & 15, and some absolutely terrible drafts in 11 & 12.

Yeah Lamb over Mitch is the standout - most of the others seem reasonable enough decisions

If they're wrong we've left Simpson with very little to call on to improve the team moving forward.
I thought the same, and purely judging on Instagram posts, he fit straight in at the club with all the lads there. My immediate thought was that we'll have little to no luck bringing him home. I'm not prepared to write off DV or compare the two right at this moment though, but this will no doubt be one the recruiters will be sweating on for a while.
This SPP bullshit is already doing my head in.

We may need to put a pin in it until we see DV over the course of the year and possibly even next year.
We all know the arguments and won't be able to come to much of a firm conclusion, aside from SPP could've been useful immediately, until DV has enough exposed form.

For a team that supposedly has doubts about their midfield they disposed of the much fancied GWS elite brigade. Coniglio could be a big loss for them early in the season.
Tipped 4 so far and picked Geelong who I think may lose as well. Not gonna bother changing that tip because it'll be more annoying if it doesn't work. Tipping is an insane endeavour particularly early on.
