Oh ffshttps://tenplay.com.au/channel-ten/...hy-is-this-indian-cricketer-called-a-chinaman
Is this a yellow peril incident or not. The fact that this has come to attention due to a reporter with Asian origin having being offender, I think it's probably a fair debate.
I'm In the camp it's a tad stupid but it can be debated that the term originated after the English batsmen got out to a a West Indian player of Chinese origin and said 'Fancy being out to a bloody Chinaman!’, to another West Indian cricketer as he got. People who view the term racsit probably view believe that he used it as an insult.Oh ffs
How is it racist?

Because in the 1930's there would have been such an abundance of Chinese cricketers - it would have been a source of bemusement for a cricketer to be dismissed by a chinamanI'm In the camp it's a tad stupid but it can be debated that the term originated after the English batsmen got out to a a West Indian player of Chinese origin and said 'Fancy being out to a bloody Chinaman!’, to another West Indian cricketer as he got. I agree but I think the fact that project pulled it out shows how ridiculous it is. It's the most of show ever and they basically have Steve price on it so they can take the piss out of views and make viewers outraged by his opinions. It's one show I have stopped watching for a while now.Because in the 1930's there would have been such an abundance of Chinese cricketers - it would have been a source of bemusement for a cricketer to be dismissed by a chinaman
Further, the term is applied to any left arm wrist spinner whatever their nationality so why bring it up now just because in this instance it's an Indian player
If anything I see it as an endearing term and describes what is an unusual and often mystifying form of bowling rather well. Exotic almost
Or are people going to start claiming that describing stuff from the orient as exotic is racist as well
Looking forward, do we see us Eberting them with pick 28-33 ish?
No surprise
What might have been.......
We can only hope but from what I've seen he's settled in at port and likes it there so doubtful he'll come backLooking forward, do we see us Eberting them with pick 28-33 ish?
At trade point, only Cyril had played more games than Ebert from that draft so lack of game time not an issue.
Ebert also a first rounder..
Will we get a bargain? Doubt it. But we owe them a trade shafting.
It looks wonderfulThat jumper looks awful on him btw
Paywalled. (+ rugby.. Meh.)http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...p/news-story/ca4c6d13a93022cc45c43da44119dd8d
Not a huge rugby fan but would feel for their fans if this happens.

Good, I don't understand why we have a union team anyway.Long story short the Force are short odds favourites to be axed between them, Melbourne and the ACT.

The project is so left winged it thinks everything is racist, they're PC warriors.
Liked Helliers alternative name through "left handed wristy"
Cyclone Debbie upgraded to sever category 4 ahead of landfall. Looks like the price of bananas is about to go up again.
Bit closer for the Saffer teams? Probably not a cosideration though given they have a Japanese team and an Argentine team. Which is insane, really. One's in a different hemisphere and the other's on the wrong side of the international dateline.
I don't understand that competition.
interesting to see a few force fans stating that they will bycott the wallabies if this goes through. They got way too ambitious and it failed
