Essendon name their side for their first hitout against Eagles, and superstar Tom Cutler has not been named. Not even on as an emergency.

So much for some supporters thinking that he was going to be the next best player in the competition because we let him go. Maybe the coaching staff do know something about his limitations and capacity.

Will just make his Brownlow this year even more impressive

Taunting isn't very becoming...

He is probably unavailable - general soreness or an injury, given that he was one of their best in his last hit out.
I wish Tom nothing but the very best in his career at Essendon. He was a great servant of our Club and would have been more than happy to have him on our list.

Carlton would be disappointed they failed to add Papley to their list after his 5 goal haul last night. He would've slot so well into their team and improved their attack substantially. I would rate them a much higher chance of making finals this season had they added Papley.

Sydney were only letting Papley go if they got Daniher.

Might be different this year, with potentially two top end academy kids who’ll likely start their careers as small forwards.

Literally just turned on the GWS v Swans game (7-8 mins in) and the commentators are talking about a major injury to one of GWS's best players.

Anyone know who?

Poor man's McCluggage (Tarranto) according to the AFL app

Admittedly haven't watched many preseason games but seeing how much slop there is in the giants / swans game makes me feel a lot better about last week

Popped his shoulder from an innocuous push.Xray later to check if any structural damage.

Might need surgery. Probably not worth carrying for the next 8 months. Fortunately for GWS they have ridiculous midfield depth.

Gardiner should be a bit of a guide on what happens next. They will XR and if there is no damage he will probably be on light duties/shoulder strengthening physio. Maybe he will miss the first few weeks of footy. If it comes out again then they will definitely have surgery which involves a few months of no activity and likely ending his season (until finals)

Swans beating up the Giants.

Will Gould takes out De Boer going for the ball.

Allir Allir jumps on top of Himmelberg, who goes to ground and looks like he’s done a wrist?

Taranto pops a shoulder.

Giants still waaay ahead on the score board.

Sydney playing the long game by trying to take giants players out for the season?

I know its only a pre-season game, but the supposed experts were saying how much the Swans would win by given GWS's under-strength side.

Couldn't more wrong with 114-19 score-line with 8 mins to go and at some points, GWS have only played 16 and 17 on the ground at various points.
