Honestly I don't think we've got one player on the squad with the right mental or physical capacity to run as a tagger/shutdown role.

Where has the personal pride gone from players these days? Our blokes mostly jog about getting made to look stupid. FK me if a bloke runs it out of the middle 2-3 times in a row, go and put some body on him.

I was thinking about trading and player mindset in the current generation. I am wondering if no one wants to take on the big challenges anymore? No one wants to put on the hard work required to take on hard tasks. Everyone wants to go to come already on top and get the most social media clicks. They're not built for the fight anymore.

I reckon the players are so used to losing its just the norm for them. Do what you gotta do on the track during the week, rock up on the weekend to get smashed, collect pay check and repeat.

How this many staff working towards a goal and millions of dollars have all resulted in this club being a catastrophic failure is crazy.

Our guys just don't run and chase for the whole game - therefore we do not put pressure on sides for the entire game - which all sides know and just hang in there until we fall away.
Is that fitness - surely not -, attitude - possibly, coaching - quite possibly. It won't make up for average skills but at least gives hope to supporters if we can see they continue to try for 100% of the game.
I worry that psychologically we have a group of players that just feel they are not going to win

We seem to hit a point every year now where I will go in order to prevent my son from enduring this shit on his own.

He’s less jaded than I and he’s never seen success.

As I type this I doubt he will see us on the last Saturday in September.

It feels like we will never have anything together enough for long enough to get there.

I here you - the enjoyment is long gone - but I will be there next week and will sign up next year as per normal.

It's an obligation now - it's entrenched - but boy it's hard yards now when you look at the club and what is stands for. Just hard to imagine it could get this bad with no sign of any meaningful improvement.
