Not sure why people say Dussey wont be there for the World Cup, come the World Cup he will be same age as Mike now and he is playing just fine...

Glad to see they left Mike out, first thoughts when he retired is why bother letting him play out the summer? Much easier surely to try out replacement batsmen at home when you can pick as many different players as you like rather than when you are overseas

Yeah but Dussey isn't even close to being in the same class as his brother. If Dussey is in our World Cup squad in 2015 we will be in a lot of trouble.

Lack of runs would be the first thought ;) Otherwise I agree with the rest.

Cause he's the back-up keeper. It's pretty simple. With Wade hardly about to retire, they don't need to pick a future keeper, and Haddin is pretty likely to be at the ashes. It makes sense to pick him instead of Paine who likely won't be there.

I would build the top 4 around Hughes at 3. That might mean Haddin opens which isn't that cool, but I want to see Hughes given a shot of nailing that troublesome first drop spot. It'd be nice to see Maxwell/Smith up around 5 but they'll probably chicken out and put them at 7

Ya ****ing what?

Disgraceful Hussey is not selected. Very disrespectful to a legend of Australian cricket!

Mike Hussey announces his retirement and makes it clear that he wants to finish out the international summer. So the selectors say too bad and drop him, when he is easily one of our best ODI batsmen. Disgraceful, disrespectful and not to mention picking the best available players!
When Mcgrath and Gilchrist retired they played out ODI series that followed there final test matches. What's the difference here?

Well McGraths last ODI was a World Cup Final ;)

Not saying that I agree with it but I'd say the difference here is a different selection panel for starters.

Bugger game 3. If Wade is going to keep in India, find the nets taking the most spin and inconsistent bounce possible and have him keep to every spinner available for a month.
I agree with this. Take a long term approach if he is seen as the long term option and maybe even send him to India a month early, to just keep to spin all day long in the nets there.

How has the leading wicket taker in this years Ryobi Cup,Nathan Coulter-Nile,not got a gig ?
Should be in ahead of runleakers Johnson or McKay.
Say what? We should replace someone who has been a mainstay and often the best performed in our ODI team in the past year or two, who has an ODI bowling average of 22 and international economy rate of 4.68, for someone brand new, who has a worse average than that at even domestic level (26) and also a worse economy rate even at domestic level (5.34- even in this year's Ryobi Cup he's going at 5.2), because the former "leaks runs"?

Ha ha, that was a good one. :D :thumbsu:

Nine should really not put up tweets on screen,it only makes some of their viewers look like total drongos. They were talking about the ODI team this morning and put a tweet on screen from some dumb woman saying Warne should be in the team because "he's fit and in form"

BTW the look of her picture even Warne wouldn't hit that thing.

They will probably blood him at some point in the series if they have any sense.

... Yeah, I guess we won't see him after all.
I would expect to see Richardson selected in the T20 internationals. There is probably still a few quicks ahead of him in the 50 over stuff.

Finch
Haddin
Hughes
Smith
D Hussey
Bailey
Maxwell
Cutting
Johnson
Starc
Doherty

(McKay, Khawaja)

Did u ever think the reason why Stryis bowled the last over was Klinger and Readen where both in and He was hoping if they get 1 of them out he would bowl Styris the very next over but that never happend so he was forced to bowl the last over.

I did think of that, yes. Its a risk he took and it backfired, as I have seen it do a few times before. I think the best death bowler in the side should be taking the last over as opposed to a guy who is not even settled in the country, yet alone the team.

BigFooty loves to blow things out of proportion. Great batter, great fielder, obviously a leader inside the sheds, hence why he was given the role in both domestic and international, but I do think some of his moves are times questionable.

Is George a great on field captain in my mind? No. Can I pick a better replacement in that squad? Also no. Thats all I am gonna say about it.

Crap for Hussey... great for WA cricket!! May even avoid coming stone cold last in both formats

Ironic if you add M. Hussey's name to the squad it looks infinately better.

Underwhelming squad...S.Smith sheesh they luv this bloke, but not quite as bad when they picked him to bat 6 for the last ashes series.
