It was obvious in the Adelaide match that we needed a 4th quick bowler in the team. I guess that is the role Henriques will play. He isn't great but he has talent. Shame Marsh is injured.

He's clearly being picked for his bowling, in which case there is no way you would select Thornley or Doropoulos.

I really don't think we need another allrounder in the side, but if you must have one then Henriques is pretty clearly the best option right now.

Not much difference between Henriques, Maxwell and Smith in the grand scheme of things.

well i don't think you actually watched the first two games. there's major problems in getting 20 overs out of Doherty, Maxwell and Dussey, hence Smith being selected in the last game, but they actually need an all-rounder at 6-7 who they don't mind seeing more than 5 overs from (so maxwell, dussey and smith are all ruled out. although smith bowled quite well right last night). ideally it would have been marsh or mcdonald, but they're injured, while christian has been pretty pathetic this season (bar one game against the Thunder, who donated most of their wickets to him). so henriques gets in as last in line, but it's not really surprising they've gone with a more bowling all-rounder at 7. the team really needed it. of course, henriques bowling in LO cricket usually sucks, (as with cutting and maxwell) so i would have preferred to see christian picked anyway, but christian is no chance of going to the ashes right now, henriques is a long shot. so...

Eh? Not sure what matches you're watching. Henriques varies his speed a lot, but he regularly opens the attack for NSW and can bowl with genuine pace when he wants to.

Faulkner's a great talent who is going to play a lot of international cricket, but he's still quite young for an allrounder and probably not what the selectors are looking for right now anyway.

james hopes would be a better option than Henriques! he is pathetic in the field, crap with the bat and not ant better with the ball. players james Faulkner, dan christian, Andrew McDonald, they have actually done something this summer, for the last 4 or 5 seasons Henriques hasn't done anything
