tomsimpkin21, Finch always looks like a chance to go out early as he seems to only hit the ball in the air. I don't like him in the ODI team, you need a better technique than just slogging at everything.
He's not in my team either, I've made the point several times over the last few months that I don't think he's our long term opener. He did make a good hundred to his credit and has deserved his spot in this series, going forward though I can't see a spot for him.

Yep I don't like Finch in my side either. Warner scores just as fast, and can hit just as big a ball, but there is one difference. Warner doesn't just throw his wicket away.

Yes he does

A few of my personal favourites now I'm off Tapatalk:

in my opinion, Rohrer and Whiteman deserve call for Australia

I think cricket australia provide to the apperchunite to brad hodge

Dave Warner can suck a golf ball through a garden hose

Australia Why not give rest all player?if u give james faulkner captaincy and clnt macky vice captain then it will be win australia.because england weak team

We want to play bangladesh vs australia... And bangladesh will win 4-1.. In home... Australia is falls team..v

FFS. I'm so done.

Maybe Wade to open? Marsh has runs at 3.

Wade, Finch, Marsh, Bailey, Smith, Maxwell, Christian, Faulkner, Coulter-Nile, Pattinson, Doherty

Would put McKay in for NCN and probably Johnson for Doherty, be surprised if he didn't play the game at the WACA

Especially since he's VC

Whiteman does deserve a call up. Should be in the test team the moment Haddin retires.

Despite his hundred, Finch is in a bit of trouble after this series unless he makes big runs in the last two games. Marsh coming in at three and making runs allows Watson to go back to opening. Good for Watson, good for Marsh.

what are you smoking? Finch is seen as the opening partner for warner for the world cup. The selectors really like the combination and the way finch has prgoressed over the last 12 months. Sure he has some things to work on but what player doesnt? he is going nowhere unless he totalyy shits the bed in the next 2-3 series.

Entirely possible. Especially if Marsh keeps up the form.

Watson and Warner are guaranteed selections so Finch is up against Marsh- CA's golden boy.

As much as the selectors love Finch, they love Marsh more. If Marsh is making runs, there is no chance of them dropping him. Warner is also making runs and will be picked over Finch everyday of the week. That leaves Watson vs Finch, one who averages over 40 in ODI cricket, has an economy of under five and an average around 30 with the ball compared to Finch who averages around 30 at a guess and doesn't bowl(him bowling himself and getting smashed doesn't count).

Any one a Tim ludeman fan? He hasn't got as many runs on the board as Paine or a Wade, but is a good striker and very clean and tidy keeper.
He needed to follow up last season's BBL form with another good series this season, but unfortunately he hasn't done that. As far as his keeping goes, he is probably second to Hartley, but as is the case with Hartley, Ludeman does not score heavily enough to put himself front & centre in the selectors' eyes.

Whiteman's better

Hartley is a better batsman than Ludeman.

Hartley is 32, reminds me of old Darren Berry from the Vics in the 90s and early 00's,
Best gloveman in the country, average with the bat, couldn't get a game in the national side

lol whiteman, a lot of hype, but hasn't done much in anything as yet

Of the players who are good enough with the bat to be considered he is the best keeper.

He needs to start turning his first class 50s into centuries. Then the selectors might start taking notice of him.

It's not like the other options are particularly good at converting.

I'd say Nevill is as good with the gloves at this stage. Whiteman should edge ahead in that department though with age.

Nevil has sucked with the Renegades this BBL season
Ludaman is far better with the gloves & can hit the ball. nevil just pushes the ball in to space and runs for singles

Nevill can actually score runs against the red ball unlike Ludeman.
