Supposedly there are going to be some kind of restriction of teams in the top 4/8 matching bids.

Personally, I don't think Carlton need to be worried as they won't make finals next year, but it would still be funny watching the meltdown if there was a restriction on matching high bids.

Should be a way of working out finals teams pay more, rather than flat cant access.

But theres picks and points. Points matters only for teams that are matching. Should be all points.

RMC U17 Futures scouting notes:

#6 Guy Jenkin (Swans Academy/NSW)
Wing/Defender | 177cm | 25/11/2008

Stats:
9 disposals, 4 marks, 2 tackles

Jenkin went about his usual business on Saturday, finding space on the outside and using the ball with patented efficiency. His kicking was unblemished throughout the day, helping connect the lines by quickly spotting up targets and hitting them with minimal fuss. One such instance saw him receive wide off the centre bounce and find a surging Edwards for his second quarter goal. Jenkin was also gutsy in a third-up marking attempt against two talls, operating between the wing and half-back.

#16 Aidan McCartney (Swans Academy/NSW)
Tall Forward | 191cm | 04/11/2008

Stats:
6 disposals, 2 marks, 2 goals

McCartney had his moments throughout the day, including two goals and some nice movement for a player his size. He provided a mobile marking target and was effective when working up the ground, able to either carry the ball or hold it up as Team Docherty worked a way forward. He further showed his turn of foot with a good chase on Kenh in term two, while his open play snap goal in term four was classy. McCartney is father-son eligible to North Melbourne, on top of his Swans Academy status.

Full details:

Theres a few on the teams that seem to be in our academy. Lachlan Price as you mentioned. Pharrell Trapman, William Boatman and Oliver Sheridan who seems to have won a few best on grounds in previous rep games. Whats the differenve between our Indigeneous and Multicultural Academy. I know that they undertook a tour earlier in the year to the Red Centre. Is it a subset of our Main Academy with extra cultural based learning?
Ben Boxsell from Canada Bay is that in the GWS zone. A google search says his father played games for the Swans in the 80's.
I miss not having indigenous flair in our team. We seem to have Rosas. The more the better

Good question, I looked this up a little while back.

Both academies are by invitation only. Participants are nominated from the National Medleys and World Team Tournament.

"Participants in the Toyota AFL Indigenous and Multicultural Academies complete a year-long program that encompasses monthly online development modules. Players also have access to additional learning and cultural support for the duration of the year."

Thanks so for our indigeneous and multicultutal players its an extra layer of learning, development and support on top of the Swans Academy participation thanks for that. Was Ben Boxsell senior a player for us in the 80s. I just got a short ai spiel and is Canada Bay in the GWS zone regarding what appears to be the son of a Swan. Maybe some of the long time followers might know about the first part of the question.

The boundaries would have to resemble a gerrymandered Texas map for Canada Bay to be in the Giants’ zone. Unless Sheedy has finally gotten his way and had ‘western Sydney’ designated as starting at the ANZAC bridge.

Looks like RMC have loaded Max's draft profile:

SNAPSHOT: “A freakishly talented and athletic utility with arguably as much upside as any prospect in this year’s crop.” – Michael Alvaro

STRENGTHS:

  • Aerial ability
  • Athleticism
  • Size
  • Speed
  • Upside
  • Versatility

IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Finishing
  • Footy IQ

As much as I can work out, disregarding any trades, for as much my own information as anyone else's, the situation is:

Assuming that Lloyd and Rampe are to be on the senior list, and we expand the senior list from 36 to the maximum 38, we will have only 2 live picks in the draft and 2 Cat A picks and 1 Cat B pick in the Rookie draft. This is because of the Rosas trade and the mandatory Will Edwards upgrade.

Mean that only King and Carmichael get picked up

Conversely, if Rampe and Lloyd are going to be rookied, then there will be 4 live picks in the draft, no Cat A picks and 1 Cat B pick.

Feel free to correct me.

I’ve not checked all your ins and outs but don’t understand your rookie B figures.

If - as you state - Edwards has to be promoted, and he and Kirk were last year’s Cat B rookies, why do we not have two Cat B rookie spots?

I’m actually pretty sure Edwards doesn’t need to be promoted to the senior list. In the last couple of years they’ve removed the restriction of spending no more than three years on the rookie list. There’s now some restriction for players who’ve cracked the senior team but that doesn’t apply to Edwards. There’s even some chance he could remain a Cat B rookie. Those rules have become more nebulous and hard to follow, but the fact he’s lost so much time through injury means they might be able to apply to keep him on the rookie B list.

Anytime a statement has the word 'arguably' in it then it is also just as valid to say the opposite.

Ie. "arguably (less) upside (than) any prospect in this year’s crop."

Is there a full run down of the combine results somewhere?

No, not yet.

EDIT: JUST RELEASED!

I've been very impressed with Kyle this year. Looks a real athlete. Worth a late draft / rookie selection and would have him ahead of Chamberlain based on this year's work.

Chamberlain has looked his best in brief moments he gets stuck behind the ball. Seriously confused with him on the wing as he gets lost as does nothing. Get him behind the ball as a tall distributor
