You should have heard her squirming as the 3AW crew repeatedly tried to get to say anything positive about Carlton tonight. That's in the last few months where the positives have been overwhelming, so at least Gerard Healy and Dwaine Russell are on to her.

As soon as I saw the byline I closed the page. I'm not interested in entertaining her cheap, redundant, hit pieces anymore.

Actually, Healy doesn't give us that much crap. But Dwayne Russell hates us very much, I don't think he'd be on to the tart anyhow. She is probably going to be very low key with us if we beat the Tigers, and rear her ugly head next time something bad off-field happens.

When we eventually come back to the top four, she will either be ignoring it or praising us, forgetting about anything she said prior.

WHAT has Lance Whitnall actually done ? Can someone please explain that ? He adjourned a court case involving someone who has allegedly threatend his life and that of his wife and family.

What, Caroline Wilson, has Lance Whitnal done wrong ? Why does he owe the club big time ? Why is he a liability ? How has he hurt the institution ? Which institution are you talking about ? How has he embarrassed the club ? Were you in court to hear the proceedings ? Why is an out of court settlement fore appropriate than the current restraining order when your families life has been threatened ? What do you know of the law and this case in particular ? What research have you done ?
How dare you call for him to be demoted from the captaincy for adjourning a court case. Are you, Caroline Wilson, completely insane ?

HE DID NOT THREATEN TO KILL HIS BROTHER VIA MOBILE PHONE. IT WAS THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

This is way out of order and think all Carlton supporters all the way to **** Pratt should take exception to this type of slanderous malicious reporting by Caroline Wilson who has obviously neglected all journalistic integrity in her blind pursuit of demoralizing Carlton and sullying the good name of The Age Newspaper. She should be suspended from her position immediately, an apology should be made and she should be asked to resign.

**** Pratt, Swan and the entire board should approach The Age and make the most vociferous complaints and not back down until a satisfactory out come is reached which should involve nothing less that the termination of her employment.

Further to this she claimed there was no one else in the contention for the captaincy except Marc Murphy, nothing short of a lie when the entire world knows it was a two horse race with Nick Stevens. She writes about Carlton every week, is a football journalist and to have not known would be complete failure at her job. To have presented it as she has is a fabrication of the truth.

Lance was not out till dawn. A lie. Lance was cleared of all violence, he was acting in the best interests of all those involved and was actual praised for his restraint. Both were cleared and it was revealed they were the victims of abuse not the other way around.

This article is the most disgraceful, blatant abuse of ones position I have ever come across and The Age should respond. It is full of lies, slanderous statements and complete distortions of the truth, it totally transgresses the lines of journalism and demeans The Age.

How can Caroline Wilson write and article like this in response to a player adjourning a hearing regarding a restraining order taken out to protect the lives of his family, and yet not comment on other footballers and their family (wife) physically assaulting women over taxi cabs etc.

The Carlton Football Club should not let this go.

With regards to slanderous statements, if there are any, then Lance could actually sue her. If you defame someone like that, especially when it comes to legal issues, then he has every right to pursue her. Not that I think it would happen ... Lance wouldn't want any more interruptions as captain.

This person is evidently using your newspaper to publicly pursue her personal vendetta against the Carlton Football club. The article lied, misled, distorted the truth, regarding the situation with Lance Whitnalls captaincy, the situation in Ballarat, the circumstances regarding Lance Whitnalls adjournment, the impact on the Carlton Football Club, in short almost every aspect of the article was compromised through fabrication and personal bias. The campaign of hate focused at the Carlton Football club by Ms Wilson has been harsh and upsetting for the supporters, however turning taking advantage of a man simply trying to protect his family from life threatening remarks, to further her blatant and petty vendettas is taking things too far. The Age newspaper is clearly having their good reputation dragged through the mud by this person using the newspaper as a platform for her petty activities. The Age has a responsibility to its self, its readers, journalistic integrity, its relationship with the Carlton Football Club and the AFL to restrain what are clearly bias and borderline emotional outbursts by Caroline Wilson. News and good journalism are what are to be expected from The Age, NOT, calling for the demotion of captains of football clubs when they are merely trying to protect their family.



To illicit such a vindictive outburst from ms Wilson when Lance Whitnall had simply adjourned the hearing is beyond belief, and can leave no one in doubt, especially The Age, as to her underlying motives when writing for The Age newspaper.



The activities of Caroline Wilson should be immediately curtailed and if this involves having her employment suspended then so be it, however at the very least, The Age needs to recognize that this campaign has been taken too far and request Ms Wilson issue a public apology.

In the 11 years Lance has been at the club he behaviour has been first class. I viewed the incident in Ballarat as a very minor one that blown way out of proportion by idiots such as Caroline Wilson. Perhaps she should focus more on more important issues such as Brodie Holland physically assaulting a female, without doubt one of the most gutless acts by an AFL footballer in recent memory. If only Brodie and his mates had showed aggression like that when Jono Brown was scaring the sheet out of them in the 2003 GF they might have got within 10 goals!
