does anybody know the name of the person who came up with the collingwoods football clubs logo?

I could not tell you, but I did update it a while ago, when the "which side the Aussie flag was on" issue was raging in the media.
I am not sure if they used my effort but could tell as I left a watermark on the original.
The Club was also using my wallpapers in 2005/06 on the website.

I just had a quick look and it is not my logo currently.

If you need high quality, original (though the image design is probably copyright) logo's give me a nod.

alls i want to know is the name of the designer of our official logo.

According to http://www.footyjumpers.com/

Collingwood-logo-1976.gif
77-79

Collingwood-logo-1980.gif
80-82

Collingwood-logo-1991.gif
91-03

Collingwood-logo-2004.gif
04-now

I have seen some older logos in the Illustrated Encyclopedia.

I'm pretty sure we used the 80-82 one for longer than that (up to 91).

There have been heaps of logos and emblems. They never really had an official one until late 70s.

Usually it depicted a magpie looking over it's shoulder similar to the one we have now. One early one even had a magpie with pearls in it's beak which gave us the nickname the purloiners.

I remember the "New Magpies" got the Magpie turned around looking forward as a sign of .... the club going forward or something like that.

But what if we are kicking to left of screen? I don't want to do a Koutafides!

Is there a reason they switched which side the flags were on or were they just bored?
we were told we had too as the Australian flag must never be covered.

I think it was an essendon supporter that noticed and complained t the right people

that looked stupid and NEVER took off, my old man always told me how no one used or even liked that logo so that was a waste of time on their part just like changing our song and hiring two senior coaches at the one time.........

In the capacity as a supporter.
I did quite a few wallpapers a few years ago while learning photoshop. You've gotta do something so why not a Pies wallpaper. They had nothing but the logo on a black background then. I emailed the club they said "Give us a look", I sent them in and they then emailed back "Yep! They're on the site."
Later on there was a bit of a stink from (I think) the RSL about the logo having the Collingwood flag before the Australian Flag. I did a few versions and sent them in and they used one for quite a while. I think all the new graphics are done by Bigpond now as they run all the AFL clubs sites.

I'm actually doing some real work right now so am a bit pushed for time but I'll put up the graphics the club used and a few which I have done over the years.

They are all pretty simple in design as they have to be functional as wallpaper or they drive you nuts.
The one of Bucks is titled "Coach in waiting".
The one with the old players all over it is titled "Ghosts of Victoria Park"
The two which are simple grey both have my logo's on them.
One is a modified (Aussie Flag on the Left) Collingwood Logo but with Ray Traced Flags.
The other features a real Magpie in the Logo. (Took me weeks to get the right pose from that damned Maggie):).

The one which has Bucks and Lonie in a winning embrace is one of the Wallpapers which the club had on the site for several years. I think it was done after we whipped Port in 2002 to make the Prelim. Rocca taking a great mark v Essendon.
I've got heaps more somehwere.

I'll post the individual Logo's next as they are larger sizes and different configurations.

Fantastic. I'm glad someone used them.:):thumbsu:

Sorry Snag I misunderstood you.
You can but you have to put the text over the picture in Photoshop or similar, save it as a new picture, upload it to Photobucket or similar and then simply post the picture with text in a thread. A lot of buggerising around but that is how I was doing my Buddy reports.
