Bucks used to always say Rocca was the most important player at Collingwood, not him. So who is it in 2010?

For mine, No.1 is easy, but the 4 after, difficult:

1. Maxwell
2. Pendlebury
3. Swan
4. Presti
5. O'Brien

In my book it has to be Cloke, if he plays 25 games and averages 15-20 disposals and and 10 marks and 2 goals a game we will go from top 4 to challenger. it would also take the pressure off our other young forwards and release Anthony/Rus/Dawes to get the 2nd/3rd/4th best def.

The big ruckman's going to be pretty important me thinks.

I think Cloke is the most important to our team. If he can become dominant, then we will be a better side.

Jolly will be almost our second most important player next year. If he can give us first possesson from stoppages, then we will be at a big advantage.

The next three in order would be Swan, H Shaw, and Pendles. People underrate Shaw's importance. When he is running well out of the backline, we are a very good attacking side.

the way i think about it is.Who would it hurt to lose the most the week before the grand final?

IMO its
1.Cloke
2.Presti
3.Didak

and thinking about the impact a class ruckman will do to our side for the first time in a decade Jolly will on top of that list by the end of the season

Collingwood's going to actually find out how handy it is to get first use of the ball on a continual basis

1. Nick Maxwell (Captain, great tough player and does the team things to lift everyone else)
2. Travis Cloke (Structurally important, when he is playing well typically Collingwood are also)
3. Dane Swan (Near brownlow medal quality midfielder, power runner who can accumulate the ball anywhere on the ground)
4. Scott Penldebury (Very dangerous with the ball and one who the opposition always has to watch)
5. Harry O'Brien (Solid defender who can play any size and just slots in well and beats his opponent every week)

Agreed. Would put Pendles equal with Dids.

For me it is Dane Swan, the ability to use the ball wisely with the number of possessions he gets is something that would be sorely missed in our team. God help us if he goes missing, Week in week out he is so reliable!

Important =/= skill, so for me, my top 5 is as followed:

1. Maxwell - sheer heart and courage, total inspiration
2. Heath Shaw - the effectiveness of his rebound ability is such an underrated X factor
3. Dane Swan - ball magnet, moves the ball around a shite load and makes very few 'errors'
4. Travis Cloke - on song he wins us games, not through goals but through a presence around the ground
5. Presti - silent assassin, 'nuff said.

Pendles by a fair margin when he plays well the game is on his terms and he makes the players around him better. Has a fantastic ability to almost always put the team in a better position after he gets the ball.

Is this a Troll?

1. Pendles by the length of the flemington, just need to rewatch last years finals series for proof, no point having a Cloke if you can't get the ball to him.

2. Jolly - Ruck has been our bane and is major reason we have lost finals/GF's, 1st use of the footy is crucial in finals.
3. Cloke - Unless Dawes plays like he did in u/18 comp there is no one to replace him.
4. Swan - Major link in our midfield
5. Ball - Mature hard, bodied hard ball, extraction machine.
6. Didak - Highly skilled and adds class.

Cloke comfortably.

A stand out year from him will mean the difference between simply making finals and being a genuine flag contender.

heath shaw also cos his HBF dashes and clearances. and long kicks to the half forward line

but no.1 probs pendles- just showeed how much we missed him in the finals...
