And he even has his own song...

Spaanderman, Spaanderman,
Does whatever a giant can.
Takes the mark, up he flies,
He really is the fullback's demise,
Look out! Here comes the Spaanderman.

OK, maybe he's not fat as such.

Why would a guy of that size be an outside forward?
Come to think of it, what is an outside forward?
Kayne Pettifer.

Dunno quite why, but after that buildup, seeing his picture (mild and friendly young bloke) was hilarious.

Is Llane pronounced Lane or Yane? What the heck is it from?

Spaanderman would have to be a Dutch name, I'd reckon.

You're right, he's not fat. Just a big lump (hell, even that's debateable after seeing that picture!) of a kid who doesnt look like he would hurt a fly.

Kind of an anti-climax, really.

He's the Spaanderman, the Spaanderman -
He can walk back as fast as you can,
He can walk back as fast as you can.

I should also point out at this juncture that Primus is also a Dutch surname and that he was also big and not muscly at 17. Maybe its genetic.

Daddy would you like some Spaanderman.

I'm pretty sure we're obligated to draft the guy now.

30s, Porthos?

YES!!! The wait is over.
Made my day Porthos. :)
Couple of centimeters too tall, but anyone that weighs 100Kg at 17 has got to be given a chance.
Now, where is that contract. :D

Stiffy reckons so, but I'm thinking that we'd need to use #15 in this draft - considering the premium talls went for in the trading period, I'd expect the draft to reflect that. And he's the biggest bloke in this draft.

Came third in the colts B&F for East Perth and played for WA this year, so he must have some skill at least, which means he's not as raw as most project players.

If we draft him I reckon this board'll have endless fun with his name, it's an absolute killer.

Spaanderman, he's so fine
He's so fine he blows our minds
Go Llaney!

Yeah it's getting a bit silly now.

If we could get this bloke to be one of our two top ruckmen when Primus and Lade have gone, that would free up Ackland for the forwards. He was starting to look pretty good just before he was laid up.

mic, I would suspect the reverse would happen. Ackland could be the athletic ruckman the AFL want and not have to worry so much about being a key forward.
