Hmmm, the drawback of the Scott Stevens deal is that our second round pick is now below Port's.
Muahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

And he even has his own song...

Spaanderman, Spaanderman,
Does whatever a giant can.
Takes the mark, up he flies,
He really is the fullback's demise,
Look out! Here comes the Spaanderman.

Boonie Board.

The other reason why I reckon we'd need to draft him early if we want him is because between them, Fremantle and West Coast have seven picks before our second pick.

I reckon Freo would be the ones to pick him up. The Coasters have a plethora of ruckman like Port Adelaide circa 2001/2002.

Except he's not meant to be a ruckman, but a forward.

Porthos: Your Title

Shhhhhhh... ;)

Its OK, I've enquired and it seems like everyone else thinks Llane is a **** footballer, so it should be pretty safe....

I dunno. They'll all be sorry when he kicks 8 goals against them though.

Slightly ahead of Adam Kingsley winning the Norm Smith medal for us.

Old Gaelic: Llane, a plain; barren, sandy, level land.

Also Salvador Dali painted this painting of Llane Beach in Cadaques, Spain.

When he was 12? Most undaliesque Dali I've ever seen.

And this totally bolloxes up the question of how to pronounce his name: "Llane" the Gaelic would be pronounced sort of like "Lane". "Llane" the Spanish would be pronounced sort of like "Yahne". (Of course Llane the Aussie is probably pronounced Spaddo.)

You know, after all this, if we don't pick him up I'll be dead set spewing (to coin a phrase, thanks Warren).

Email petition anyone?

I guess we'll find out in due time. But I reckon this kid must have a multidude of nicknames. The aforementioned Spaddo, then there's Spando, Spider, Spandex ;), Llaney, Spaanda...

That's what I was thinking. The form email could prove to be interesting though!

The most interesting aspect would be as to whether we have scouted this kid yet/at all.

Well he went to draft camp, so Alan and Choco might have at least seen him at some stage.

Knowing our luck, probably not. [edit] Ok, after seeing he went to the draft camp then I've changed my mind.

But here's a silly thought. Last year I saw a write-up about Salopek in the paper and there was a picture too, so I got all annoyed 'cause I knew there was no way he'd ever come to Port. I remember showing it to Mum and saying 'That's the kind of kid we need at the club. I wish he'd come to Port.'

Imagine my shock when I heard he was drafted to us! Absolute fluke, but I guess it's worth a shot this year too. ;)

Apparently Choco freaks out all the young kids at the draft camp with how intense he is. Hopefully Alan plays the 'Good Cop'.

I'm sure that Spaanders eats intensity for breakfast. :P

It'd be an absolute shocker if he ended up at the Crows.

It seems he also made the WAFL Colts Team of the Year at full forward.

Here's a quote from `The Doctor', a good poster on the Bulldogs board that knows his drafting...

Brett Hall looks the best of the rucks and could still be there by pick 19. I'm a rap for a guy called Llane Spaanderman. He's a bit of a Minson at 199cm and 100kg's. Needs a lot of development and not incredibly mobile but has the ability to ruck and play as a big marking forward. Might even be a chance later in the draft.
