I see a lot of fans saying chins up and honourable loss and all that. You must be a better fan than me but I'm just as frustrated as ever.

Large spells of average footy and hard work going unrewarded. We played one good quarter and Melbourne were putrid today. I'm worried that Collingwood and Melbourne's injuries have made our performances look better (despite losing both)

Better than getting done by 70 points I know but after what, 5 years? I'm sick of losing so its hard to be positive
I think you're being over harsh. Where we have come from just being in games at the death is a huge positive. Can only beat who is in front of you, I would be doing cartwheels if we'd scraped home in both.

How about Salem. Puts his hand and says not taking advantage. And then takes advantage and the umpires allow it.

Says it all about the umpires. Influenced by the big teams and players.

What about his paid mark in the first that cam had two grabs at…
And then his dragging in the ball underneath and …..ball up
3 non calls that involved him

Goes without saying but LDU is amazing. Almost won the game off his own boot. Wardlaw and Sheezel were brilliant again. Nice to see Cam have a good game. Absolutely loving watching Arch. Will Phil had another good game. Bailey Scott did some good things again tonight. Eddie is such a different cat but his football smarts are great to watch. Hopefully we will be the other side of these close games soon. Well done boys. PS I hope May gets called out for his NIDA institute performance 😡

Can't remember the last time we outworked an opponent in the 4th. Huge tick.

Need more of a sample size but the days of being a basket-case appear over.

We are competeing and showing effort though. I couldn’t care less if we keep losing close games

As long as the boys out there and giving it a crack. They are showing respect to the fans and not strolling out there for a pay packet (well most lol)

This type of competitiveness will turn. The shitty, heads down, no confidence will and can continue for a long time

Bahaha, Gawn commenting on "frees that weren't there" against the Dees.

Can't make this shit up
Gawn literally spent the entire night with his hand in X's face or fistful of jumper. Got absolutely looked after by the umps.

Darcy the stemhead just described Wardlaw as a young Jack viney 🤮

My greatest fear coming into tonight was whether we’d be able to maintain the momentum of the last few weeks. There’s enough of a sample size now to say that we’ve been very competitive in the last 4 games. We have officially turned the corner. And whilst a couple of extra wins would have been great we are heading in the right direction another good trade and draft period and we’ll be well on our way.

Sounds like loser mentality/coping, but I really proud of the effort and capacity to come back (which I didn't think we had yet). We just weren't clean when it mattered.

A few individual standouts:
  • Archer smashed a good forward (albeit in questionable form) in Fritsch who normally flogs us. Next week is Weightman.
  • Sheezel is some freak combination of Robbie Gray (without the leg speed) and Pendles.
  • Wardlaw and LDU beat Viney and co.
  • I thought Phillips gained a lot of confidence tonight and absolutely flogged Cletus. I just wish he had a tank as he's a lovely kick. Pleased he ran out the game (83% TOG). His last quarter needs to be his repeatable goal from now on.
  • Elvis just won himself a nice new contract after tonight.
  • The defence as a whole were excellent. A few errors in the third, but crap happens in games. I thought Comben and Arch were the standouts.

The wheel is starting to turn, but we've got to remain patient and learn how to win again.

Planned to leave 10mins into the last. What a fight back. Proud of the lads.

Better connection going forward and we would have smacked them. Let ourselves down with our entries.

Hopefully we’ve seen the worst of a very ugly time in our history. Let’s go Roos!
