The worst kept secret ever
If this club wants to make a statement which will lift the spirits of the supporters of this club which in turn could turn into a $$$$$ making event for this club and the only time this has happened in the past was for Harvey record breaking game and the premierships that we won.
They should hold a press conference to let the football world know that the NMFC are going to select JHF at 1 and present the number 18 jumper to him by our greatest player in Wayne Carey.
By doing this it would increase the membership Talley and a good possibility to add merchandise sales of JHF jumper simerler to when Rinaldo went back to Manchester United.
I’m not saying we are going to sell 250k jumpers of JHF but this club needs publicity after going thru 2 years of hell in the history of this club.
It’s time to do the right thing we need to try and milk this for what’s worth as this maybe our best chance to lift the spirits of the club and the club coffers as they no point bidding on Daicos Son or that 💩 son of Darcy as that won’t help us.
We have to the BEST player and I mean the BEST player in cusp of our hands just name him now.

South Adelaide young gun Jason Horne-Francis is starting to see himself as a North Melbourne player, a month out from the national draft.
“It’s hard not to when there’s a lot of media stuff about it,” Horne-Francis said at SA’s draft combine on Saturday.

“They (North Melbourne) have spoken to me and said that.

“They’re keen, obviously.”

The Kangaroos are almost certain to take Horne-Francis with their top pick on November 24 after interviewing him last Saturday on the back of his standout SANFL season with the Panthers.

Horne-Francis, who registered 24 touches, 11 clearances and 3.3 in South’s losing preliminary final, said North Melbourne told him it saw him in a mid-forward role next year.

Adelaide and Richmond tried to secure the No. 1 pick from the Kangaroos during the trade period so they could get the 18-year-old, only to be knocked back.

“It’s a big honour to have clubs put up that for yourself,” he said.

“It’s a bit crazy but I feel like it’ll take care of itself.”

Horne-Francis only completed jumping tests at UniSA Mawson Lakes on Saturday but the fact the SA under-19 captain attended, when he did not need to prove anything to scouts, highlighted his competitive nature and desire to support his mates.

As the hype around him has mounted, Horne-Francis has taken it all in his stride.

“I feel like I’m usually pretty good with the head space and not looking into it too much,” he said.

“It is tough when your mum posts on Facebook every time she sees your face (in the media).”

Horne-Francis said playing two seasons of state league held him in good stead for the elite level.

“I feel like I can make an impact straight away,” he said.

“I’m excited to have footy as a job and you can do what you love every day.”

Horne-Francis said his stepdad Fabian Francis, who played 86 AFL games for Port Adelaide, as well as 23 for Melbourne and Brisbane, had been a big influence.

“He’s just like any other dad, just with a bit more knowledge of football,” he said.

“He’s been really good to develop me as a person and player.”

As for Horne-Francis’s mum Trish, she is already starting to accept an interstate move is on the cards.

“It’s going to be a bit tough for her but she’s slowly getting her head around it,” he said.

SANFL talent manager Brenton Phillips said North Melbourne “should be all over” Horne-Francis.

“I haven’t seen too many 18-year-olds like that at that particular level (in a SANFL preliminary final) pick up a side by the scruff of the neck and almost get them across the line,” Phillips said.

“It highlights the maturity, the work ethic and the competitive nature.”

Can’t wait to see this kid running around in the royal blue and white, just hope the footy media and supporters can keep their power dry for a couple of years and let him grow into the player we’re all pretty confident he can become.

this kid is going to achieve a lot of success with that character of his. He is already so invested in our club, culture and history. It would hard not to see him flourish, he is also humble and self confident in his abilities.

As soon as you get drafted and walk into an AFL club after a few days no one cares what number you were drafted at because everyone is fighting for their spot. The way he says he will make an impact straight away is such an elite mindset.

Two things:

Why not let him get the number he wants (within reason)? He might want 33.

We're over 100 pages in and this isn't even his official thread. Good thing we aren't being sucked into the hype.

Jason Horne-Francis admits it is difficult not to already think of himself as a North Melbourne player amid speculation that the Kangaroos will use their No.1 pick in the 2021 national draft to choose the 18-year-old South Australian.

After 20 games in the SANFL, including a best-on-ground performance in the preliminary final with South Adelaide, Horne-Francis is the most highly rated player in the draft, with Adelaide and Richmond offering attractive trade packages to the Kangaroos in an attempt to get the first selection.

North Melbourne have already indicated they are likely to choose him and most industry observers expect them to pick Horne-Francis rather than make bids on father-son prospects Nick Daicos and Sam Darcy, who are tied to Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs.
“It’s hard not to [see yourself as a North Melbourne player] when there is a lot of media stuff about it,” Horne-Francis said.

He said it became a goal of his to be the No.1 selection as the year unfolded and he hoped he would make the transition from SANFL to AFL quickly.
“I feel like I can make an impact straight away,” Horne-Francis said.

SANFL talent manager Brenton Phillips told ABC radio on Saturday that Horne-Francis was the best prospect from the state for several seasons, as the state’s best draft prospects attended the combine at the University of SA’s Mawson Lakes campus, with the vision streamed back to AFL recruiters in other states.
Horne-Francis described the scrutiny and the hype around him as a “bit crazy” but said he was good at embracing the attention rather than shying away from it.

“It is tough when your mum posts on Facebook every time she sees your face, but I’ve been pretty good with it,” he said.

The midfielder, who has been described as a calm, yet powerful midfielder among recruiters, said his experience with South Adelaide stood him in good stead for the leap into the AFL.

“I feel like I will be ready for the next step,” Horne-Francis said.

The Kangaroos have indicated to him they see him as a mid-forward with the club building a strong midfield, including Will Phillips, Tom Powell, Charlie Lazzaro, Tarryn Thomas and Jy Simpkin, along with the experienced Ben Cunnington.

Most clubs are turning their attention to the national draft in late November with list spots tight and very little opportunity for uncontracted players to find new homes.

Collingwood, who hold pick 27, are among a number of clubs who will spend more time considering potential draft swaps rather than chasing delisted free agents in the upcoming period.

Kermonds hamburgers down my way are legendary old school burgers. They've opened up a shop in Geelong now as well.
I’ve got a mate who lived in Warrnambool and he speaks pretty highly of them.
Danny’s in Nth Fitzroy is good value, especially if it’s late or you are a bit hungover.
Beef burger at The Retreat in Abbotsford is highly recommended as far as good pub burgers go.
