Autopsy Autopsy vs Carlton - absolutely bashed the shit out of the Blues

It's been going on for years. Started in the 70's with Richmond Carlton and to a lesser extent Collingwood. They didn't give a shit about the zones, they'd just throw money at players to win them over. It's where the entitled attitude amongst their supporters has grown over the years. "How dare you beat us!" The odd thing is, the draft was brought in to eliminate the underhanded part, yet the AFL repeat the shit with Gold Coast and GWS.
It worked for us in 1975.

Always thought we should put up a statue to those brown paper bags

Phillip Thread please … 😉

PS. I am a Phillips supporter, but have to admit the midfield is looking relatively good at the moment.

PPS. Would keep Wardlaw in for his intensity around the contest, but after absolutely baking him for burning RHJ on the outside in the 3rd quarter going inside 50.

Docherty? bit of a surprise

Btw, surely that wasn’t our good mate Gerard whispering in the background ‘not sure that was even a free kick’ when Browny brought up PC’s ‘rough tackle’ on Saad for the 50th time?
It surely was. And he muttered similar points to a couple of others as well.

And he was right.

Can't criticize umpires openly but maybe he was using the open mic technique.

Still pondering when we were last well into a season and took out an opponent whose season was still "live" without it being part of a new coach bounce?

2018?
When we beat West Coast in 2021 (the Jaidyn Stephenson 40 possessions game, I know it feels like another dimension) they were still in the 8 on track for finals and fell out shortly after, if memory serves me

edit: memory serves me. they stayed in the 8 for another month and ended up missing finals by a game and percentage

That's a good get.

Was a good win.

There are 4 clubs the Jaidyn BMX demise could occur at - us, dees, crows or saints.

All have dibs on bizarre random events and the occasional fisting from city hall.

We got more points at this stage of the season than we've had at any stage since 2019. And there are still 9 games to go

I'd even skip 2019 for all precedents and push back to 2018.

We had a bizarre umpires rub of the green for Brad's farewell game and then the fruitless Shaw wins.

Was it here I read that’s the biggest home and away crowd we have won in front of since 1998? Can that be true?

Also another reflection on awful Carlton supporters. If something good happens for any other team - even * - I can find it in myself to be pleased for a friend who barracks for them because those friends are always fair with me. But when Carlton loses, especially in an upset, thinking of people I know who support them makes me enjoy the misery even more. Even though they are otherwise lovely people, they just can’t not be arrogant and entitled when the talk turns to football.

You remind me of dinner out with a Carlton couple a few months ago.

She's from o/s and has a soft spot for North, he's respectful enough and measured but still 'one of them' deep down.

Me - joke about how Pendlebury can go 20 years without playing in Tassie or Geelong.

Him (completely unironically) "Collingwood need to play their games at the G". Silence.

His big club arrogance was so strong it even extended to the arch enemy. Like the rest of us simply exist to fill out their fixtures.
