Good lad. You have to look like an AFL footballer to play like one. I was never a knocker of Hinkley, but it is apparent that he had pretty low standards when it came to the fitness and strength of his players.
A simple of being tougher and harder at the contest for longer...yeah with the players looking like boys, no shit things are going to be tougher and harder for longer. 🤣

How was his ball handling skills at the presser though?:smirk:

He might still go ok you know. Size and speed added to his game would round out a good footy IQ, neat skills and composed decision making.
I was not impressed when he was given chance late in the season but with a new coach you get a second chance and he's improved greatly over the off season.

lmao at almost every interview a player has done so far, they have mentioned putting size on.
It's almost as if after thirteen seasons of modelling the perfect AFL player on a skinny halfback flanker the penny has finally dropped.

Agreed, as many supporters have been suggesting for years too many players on the Power list in the kern era have had the physiques of Ethiopian marathon runners and have been too easily brushed aside because of it, particularly when under the pressure of finals footy.

For a bloke like Lorenz to increase his weight by 6 kgs this early in the off season just epitomises how poor the situation must have been, so it will be interesting to see if other under sized players (eg Moraes) can put on some much needed muscle if they too are encouraged to access the weights room.

Come march Todd's gonna look like an actual footballer and everyone's gonna be like 'where the shit has this been'

Because he's a flakey outside wingman with average skills

Prob belongs in a different thread , but loremz isn’t a pure outside wingman whatsoever. Is a clearance winner. Inside / outside player. Nor is he flaky.

He’s certainly a work in progress but I don’t think you e assessed his weaknesses here at all correctly

At AFL level he doesn't have the strength, pace or agility to be a clearance winner. I watched him in the west coast trial game where he came on for a half and his speed of decision making also stood out. Holds onto the ball far too long.

He's actually a good inside mid who wins plenty of clearances.

Yep, he has been played quite a bit last year especially as an inside-mid and won more than his fair share of clearances. Certainly not afraid to put his head in the hole when it's his turn. Even in his few AFL games he's shown that much.

Did you watch the Glenelg game?
He’s not very good.

I've watched him play the past few years, not just one game, and think he has something to offer as a midfielder.

Maybe he won't make it but we might as well have a look at him and find out.
