Does McAulliffe running a sub 3-second 20m and a 95cm running vertical change his draft status for you? What would you have his draft range at?

Not sure I recall him being scouted as having that sort of explosiveness.

For me? Not really, he tested well in pre season so it was moreso just clarification that he's pretty well over his groin issue to replicate that. I still have him as an option from 40 onwards regardless, it's one thing to have the athletic traits, but you need to consistently apply them at the right times in games.
Caddy seems to be a polarising player on our board. Any chance you know what his actual measured height is? Do you think he will make is as a key position forward?

Cheers
Updated heights and weights will be up on RMC over the next week, but I don't think he's grown a significant amount. Did test well for the 20m and has a really good reach on him for a 190ishcm though, so there's weapons there to overcome the lack of height for a KPF role

Charlie Constable vibes?
Hard to make it as a slowish HBFer

Stevens has a way better tank than CC as shown by his 2k time. I dont think he will ever be an A grader but he will be a solid 100 gamer somewhere.

Also ran a 6.35 2km

It's incredible that my first thought was "so what?" before registering that it's a good result, these damn sub 6 minute 2kms are ruining my perception of what's reasonable

I think it's time for the AFL to look at a better way to get the data the clubs are after at the combine. The combine is not what it use to be, probably why some clubs are running their own testing which include ball skills. No one does it better than the NFL. This should be the AFL's starting point to build a testing program for the athletes which includes various skills.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if more and more agents/managers of expected draftees start holding back guaranteed top picks from Draft Combines like they do in the NBA.

Unless you client is going to go late and you want to boost their draft stock there's no incentive there to do a bad workout/combine and lose potential spots because you didn't perform well.

Drafts nowadays are all about potential and hype.

I personally think GPS data is so much more valuable than the combine results. Then no doubt, interviews would add some further pieces to the puzzle.
Most recruiters talk to people around the clubs for further data.

Champion data have everything at clubs’ fingertips. There is nothing they don’t know about the kids. The visits and interviews clear that aspect up as well as interviews with school teachers etc. The combine is to maybe distinguish between some kids who are rated evenly. Largely the whole weekend is pointless. 5 of the top 6 rated kids didn’t even test.

Do you think Duursma can become a midfielder at AFL level?
I remain optimistic about that yes, I think his midfield performances through the CTL weren't near as bad as some have made out, he's not the complete product yet but there was enough development over a month or so to suggest its a possibility.

I've ended up on the same stance I started the year with, at worst you end up with a B grade medium forward, at best you end up with an A grade mid, most likely you end up with a great forward that pinch hits through the midfield

Leake reminds me of Sam Docherty when he's playing half back and Toby Greene when he's up forward, moves exactly like Docherty too. Just looks a total natural in both positions and looks like he can play midfield pretty well too from the limited vision I've seen of him on ball. 188cm is a fantastic size for those positions and looks courageous and tough.

Smokey for a top 5 player in this draft when it's revisited in a few years imo.

Hey mate

Whats your thoughts on Archer Reid? Do you think he slides into the 2nd?
After going back over a lot of vision for his draft profile I'm really conflicted on Archer. He's got some really unique traits for his height in his cleanliness at ground level and general mobility, good leading patterns and work rate, but I'm less convinced hes going to realise his potential at the top level than i was a month ago.

I think he's going to be a safe bet to be there at 20, but after that given the evenness of the crop I think clubs will favour his traits and potential over shorter options
