Why are they kneeling to Coles?
Everyone knew in advance what was coming for the match, and they knew that Coles would be upset over the lack of exposure of its logo. So they do this in advance.

Roo just doesn't get it

“It’s been a very annoying couple of weeks for me."

"I want him to be happy at the club... lets sort it out, that’s all I want to do, just fix it up and move on ..."

Long may the status quo remain

He only wants him to be happy at the club because it's hurting the clubs rep, not for altruistic reasons. That ship has sailed.

With TV deals done, the AFL has fresh battle on its hands

An article by Caro about how pissed off the non Vic clubs are with the AFL. Another example of the big favours handed out to the Vic clubs.

The charge [against the AFL] was led by Greater Western Sydney boss Dave Matthews and Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann. Supported by Port Adelaide's Keith Thomas, the clubs voiced their disenchantment over the multimillion-dollar fillip achieved for the six MCG tenants Melbourne, Richmond, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Carlton and Essendon.

Each club will receive about $190,000 per MCG home game this season. Previously unreported was the fact that Marvel Stadium tenants St Kilda, North Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs - along with the Bombers and the Blues, who have two-stadium agreements - will reap even more.

Those clubs will receive match returns worth about $210,000 for every home game. The non-Victorian clubs have no such deals in place, a point not lost on Giants chief Matthews who pointed out that all of the above deals stemmed not from the stadiums but straight from the AFL's coffers.

Compounding their disappointment was the news from Gunston [AFL CFO] that both the Giants and the Swans, along with Port Adelaide - and the Lions and Gold Coast from next week - would have to cover all the costs for bringing their supporters back into the stadiums. At a time when none of those clubs are receiving stadium returns.

Yeah well I nearly fell over backwards when Graham Cornes expressed his annoyance at Bunji going public with it, giving mean spirited types the opportunity to use it to disparage his beloved club.

If only Andy could understand that he is the problem.

What sort of crowd do we need to make $200k from a home game? Break even is circa 33k if I remember correctly.

lmao eddie was like "i've actually been trying to find Lumumba, i actually went to LA to try and find him and give him a life membership" what a fat moron
Yea I think Eddie just musing on something or taking a half step becomes a full blown reality in his head much like the Collingwood helping Port Adelaide nonsense.

We've been heading for this defensive low scoring gunge for decades I can't see any way out given the coaching ethos & game styles across the league, shortened quarters sure as shit ain't gonna help it.
Most coaches are afraid of the big losses. They rather win 40-30 or lose 30-40 then go for winning 120-60 and risk losing 60-120. Any coach that's not 100% secure in their job is going to want to, at worst, say at the end of the year "Yeah we missed the eight, but we had no big losses, we're close, give me another year". Every move by the AFL is trying to make the game higher scoring, but the coaches don't want that.

I remember when Dennis Commetti suggested that we just get rid of the 'against' part of the ladder and I think percentage too so higher scoring sides get precedence when wins are even.

If 1 week is the low end of the spectrum, I can’t wait to see what happens when someone gets caught snorting coke off a randoms **** at 3am in a nightclub cubicle.

Football suspensions should only be for on field incidents.
