for those interested, here's this year's potential father-son nominations (x-post Reddit)

CARLTON
  • Bailey Rice (son of Dean)
Dandenong Stingrays, FWD, 183cm, 81kg, Bailey could potentially choose between Carlton or St. Kilda, Dean played 116 games for the Saints between 1987-1993 and 118 games for the Blues between 1994-2001.

  • Jake Bradley (son of Craig)
Northern Knights, small FWD, 175cm, 66kg, I kinda hope Port poach him ;)

ESSENDON
  • Harvey Daniher (son of Chris)
Calder Cannons, FWD, 189cm, 88kg, another Daniher at Essendon! could potentially join his cousin Joe

  • Tom Wallis (son of Dean)
Calder Cannons, MID, 182cm, 70kg

MELBOURNE
  • Jake Lovett (son of Brett)
Dandenong Stingrays, UTIL, 181cm, 80kg, absolute running machine apparently

ST. KILDA
  • Bailey Rice (see Carlton)

  • James Coghlan (son of Frank)
Bendigo Pioneers, DEF, 180cm, 70kg

SYDNEY
  • Josh Dunkley (son of Andrew)
Gippsland Power, MID, 188cm, 84kg, already touted as a top 20 draft prospect and likely to cost Sydney their first draft pick (ala Isaac Heeney), trade ban? what?

WEST COAST
  • Jordan Matera (son of Peter)
Sandringham Dragons, MID, 182cm, 80kg already showing loads of promise

WESTERN BULLDOGS
  • Darcy Macpherson (son of Steve)
Northern Knights, small FWD, 173cm, 68kg

Given his dad played for both clubs he probably supports one of them.

If my dad played for port I would of still be stoked to go to us even in 2011/2012

My dad never played for Port and I was still stoked to be known as a supporter of the best team in the land circa 2012

Would we take an interest in Brad Hartman from Geelong?
Cats have sent him back to Murray Bridge to try and get his head together.

Selwood said he could sympathise with the scrutiny Dangerfield was facing over whether he would remain at Adelaide or cross to Geelong, located near his native Victorian surf coast, when he became a free agent this year.

But he said the Cats wouldn't focus on it, or roll out the red carpet when Dangerfield arrived at Simonds Stadium for Thursday night's NAB Challenge clash between the two clubs.

"I think the speculation is a bit unfair on not only the player in Patrick himself but also Adelaide footy club and Geelong footy club," he said.

"We've had it in the past with Gary Ablett and a number of other players who have been out of contract throughout that time and expected to go to other clubs.

"The only tour he'll be getting is behind one of our players or playing on one of our players."

Pick 77 in 2012
5 games in 2 years, average of 7.5 disposals per game
Sent home indefinitely for 'personal reasons'
Charged with leaving the scene of accident and failing to stop at a stop sign on Xmas Eve.

Queue forms to the left, where do we sign? :p

His homesickness is his major issue.

He would be a good rookie pick if available.

Given hes from Murray Bridge, I reckon Chad could be a good influence on him if he ever made it onto our list.

Would be a significant upgrade on Ahchee I reckon

They just realise it didn't work last time so are being sneakier this time. He's certainly gone, though this is not necessarily a good thing. The facebook rage will be fun but in football terms he's a liability for the Crows.

Danger is their best player by a mile. It would kill them. Doubt he's gone though.

Best player? Yes, best for the team....I don't think so.
