I bet my dick is bigger than yours, but no, I can't prove it.

You really should get some psychiatric help you know. Obviously the mental scars you bear from the Port Magpies domination of the SANFL run very deep and now you have a real phobia that the Power are going to relegate the Rest of South Australia to also ran status as well.

I expect the shrink will help you to accept the inevitable. Good luck!

Why rubbish the Power and the Port Magpies??? The are both good teams. Norwood is better! Crows supporters approximately 50% are bandwagon supporters who know next to nothing about the game. Jumped on in the last couple of years because of the success achieved in 97 and 98. Grass root supporters are the one's who have has an SANFL team to support!

Reading all this Port Adelaide vs Adelaide fighting reminds me of the Collingwood vs Carlton arguments we have here in Melbourne. To put in my few cents worth, of all the interstate teams, the one I respect the most is Port Adelaide. I have seen every Port vs North Melbourne game here in Melbourne, and I tell you what, their players never give in. They play with pride in their jumper....you cannot ask more than that. There is nothing more frustrating for a football fan then paying membership fees only to see that the players don't give a **** (ask any Richmond fan). One of the most memorable games from last year was our game vs Port at the MCG....we were lucky to win, a draw would've been fair.....the only other teams that played as well against us were Brisbane and Essendon....not bad company for Port. Respect also to their fans. In the pre-Blight days when Adelaide were the biggest underachievers in the competition, I was constantly amazed at the abuse and lack of support that Adelaide would get if they, God forbid, lost a game. As Malcolm Blight once said, "Adelaide fans were the least knowledgable football fans in the country". It also happened last year when Adelaide slid down the ladder....two (well deserved) premierships and then all their fans forgot.....players like Jarman and Bickley went from legends to ****ing no-hopers. Port, on the other hand, I have never failed to see their fans get behind their players, no matter how well or how bad they are playing. Their fans just didn't stop chanting in last years final game...it was great to hear. In a football world where things have become so corporate, it was fantastic to feel some passion again.

Anyway, respect to Port and I hope to see them in the finals this year.

Thanks for those comments. From the early days of the Power, John Cahill used to say that he would like Port Adelaide to play the way North Melbourne do. Young Michael Stevens looks like being a chip off the old block, so things are moving in the right direction...

If Michael Stevens does even half as well as Anthony, he'll be great for you....I'm sure Anthony will be passing on a few tips to his brother. Strangely enough, last year, while you had Nick Stevens (a great player to watch), we had his older brother Danny. Unfortunately, Danny got delisted...a shame...the kid had ability (I saw his first match...he scored a beautiful running goal), but he could never show it in the senior side.

I also hope that Stuart Dew fulfils his potential. In last years final, I think he kicked 4 or 5 goals against us. But what won me over was that he was happily mouthing off to Glenn Archer after getting those goals....takes a bit of guts to do that, so respect to him.

Apologies if this ends up getting posted twice.

I do hope that Anthony Steven's younger brother does well for you guys. If he goes in for the ball half as well as Anthony, he'll be an asset. Did you know that last year, this was not the only set of Stevens brothers that were split between North and Port? While you had Nick Stevens, we had his older brother, Danny. Danny had the skills, but he just couldn't translate them into senior footy. It was a shame...I saw his first game, he scored a beautiful running goal with his first kick.

I hope that Stuart Dew fulfils his potential. In the finals game last year, he scored, I think it was 4 or 5 goals against us. But what won me over was the fact that he was happily mouthing off to Glenn Archer after a few of the goals....it takes a bit of guts to do that, so respect to Dew.

I echo the praise of the Port boys. When they first started I thought (Yawn) another fremantle type game will I go or not ? or we lost Fitzroy for this lot?
They certainly kept going and never gave in. Showed passion which is similar to what we have at the Hawks these days. I expect Port to mirror Hawthorns rise to a 'player' in the next few years.

Perhaps the ansett cup final was just an aberration....

Sorry to interrupt this little love in but some of us could give a stuff about Power Adelaide after Judas totally shafted the team that made him a star and a Brownlow medalist.

Still, good win against us in Adelaide last year - only loss of the last 17 matches if you include the AC, except of course (sob) for that Prelim F 1 point tragedy...

Dutch

I'm glad you could give a stuff. Gavin Wanganeen would have been a star at any club he went to. I'm glad he did go to the Bombers in 1991 rather than the Cows (shudder). As for calling him a Judas, you can take the boy out of Port Adelaide, but you can't take Port Adelaide out of the boy!

I'm new to SA, and want to know who the owns the licence for the Adelaide Football Club and the Port Adelaide Power Football Club and where do their profits go?

The SANFL own both the licences. 85% of the profits of Port Adelaide and the Generic South Australian Team must be returned to the SANFL, most of which is distributed to the nine SANFL clubs as a dividend.

So all the w***er supporters of other SANFL clubs who bad mouth Port Power should really be wishing them well, because Port's profits help prop up their sorry little clubs.

Hey Shortass - where'd you get the idea there is a seven year wait for Crows membership? If the Crows have all that support, how come they can't sign people up? And if Port has a quarter of the support of the Crows, it just shows one Port supporter is worth at least four crows, since Port whipped them last season.
If you'd like to check your facts, you'll see that Bronze crows membership is open, boundary membership is open, crows nest membership is open, and this year they have introduced the Bandwagon club, where you can become a member for only $35, provided you show the mebership card of your former club.
Bye

Hey bay-bee
why don't you come over to mah place and show you an Essendon welcome....from da back?! I know you like it too, sweet honey.
Since you be goin for da "backward" Port Adelaide...

Skase why stir them up? As far as I know none of those Crows memberships types you mention actually involve seats at games. Its only about the club magazine or some stupidity like that. Memberships and season tickets for Crows are all sold out and have been for ten years and there really is a long waiting list . Everyone knows it so why bluster?

Give them the good oil, thats what really gets them. :-)

I am sorry but M Stevens never made it and never will we shipped him off to play second fiddle to his brother.

Hey Jon Cena wannabe. Take your NY jive street talk over to the WWE board. It don't make no sense over here, YO!!

PS. We can't see you! (and don't want to)

Your wondering who I support in the AFL - well, no names, but its a team from South Australia who won the PREMIERSHIP in 1997 AND 1998. Your also wondering who I support in the SANFL, well again, no names but, it's the team who killed those port adelaide magpies in the 1997 GF by a port adelaide magpies record losing margin for a GF of 73 points and killed those port adelaide magpies on ANZAC DAY in 1997 by a port adelaide magpies losing record margin for a minor round game of 122 points - lest we forget.

John B, you talk of Norwood's success in 1997 and years after that when Port Adelaide Football Club had left the SANFL to join the AFL. Your hollow victories above were all against the Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club formed (as part of PAFC bid for the 2nd AFL licence) in 1997 so that SANFL clubs like yours that missed out on the AFL could still feel important by playing a "Port".

So I can understand why you are bitter, frustrated and confused Norwood/Crows supporter - I may have been the same had the Norwood/Sturt (East Adelaide) AFL bid been successful over Port in 1994. Thank God for Ross Oakley.

Bitter because Norwood ran second to Port again (AFL licence).

Frustrated because Norwood is now playing in a sub-standard feeder competition providing juniors for Port Adelaide.

Confused because you want to follow a club close to your heart in the AFL but are forced to follow and share the Crows with your fellow Glenelg, Woodville, South etc supporters.

And what is worse John B, is that you may end up totally depressed if the Redlegs (bottom) and Crows (2nd bottom) continue on their losing ways and give you the wooden spoon double this year.

:) :D

Actaully, that post was posted before Cena debuted for the WWE, so really he isn't a Cena wannabe, he's a "rapper" wannabe. Or never will be.
