Even if he was a lock best 22 last year he would have got into the side at some stage, was borderline then and nothings changed.
Last year.
At the time he had been returning from injury, got injured in early rounds missed games and was getting match fitness back against NEAFL teams which were amature league standard. This was confirmed by a Swans poster last year.
Other players must have gone past him this preseason.

That's why I don't believe he's a best 22 player or was last year.
what's your thoughts of Darcy parish bicks? Think he would also suit what we need, bit of skill and pace in the outside .... Hope we go for a mid this year with a bit of speed and match winning ability
Yep I've seen mills play live about 4 x and he is advanced on heeney even from the same time last year but injured currently . Saw him dominate a Neafl game that heeney was also playing in last year. Tough, quick enough and clean - just like heeney but a little bit better footy brain . Heeney has really come on in last 6 monthsAnother country Vic lad that has big wraps, good pace, has both an inside/outside game but not quite as skilful as Darcy Tucker IMO. but would certainly suit our need for outside pace. Next years draft really shaping as beauty that's why I wouldn't be as keen as some on BF are putting our early picks on the table for Aish just yet. Stephen Tahana [SA] a very quick mid size defender sure to be in demand too.
I'm pretty sure Sydney have another "Heeney" on their hands with Callum Mills too, I think they get first dibs on him too through the NSW Academy, time the AFL hit that on the head.
Was thinking maybe for the Aish trade something like Lyons to Richmond, Vickery to Brisbane, 2nd round pick from us to Brisbane and aish to Adelaide.
Bris get roughly pick 30 and Vickery/Lose Aish, Richmond get an inside mid/morris replacement in Lyons but lose Vickery and we gain aish but lose 2nd round and lyons.
I love this time of the year.. lots of Playstation Trading ideas with not the slightest foundation in reality...Was thinking maybe for the Aish trade something like Lyons to Richmond, Vickery to Brisbane, 2nd round pick from us to Brisbane and aish to Adelaide.

Was only basing on the fact that they desperately need a key forward and Vickery and Lyons are wasted in the magoos, agree its all tealeaves and spitballs this time of year, just fun to see if anything like it comes true. No harm no foul Dark Lord.I love this time of the year.. lots of Playstation Trading ideas with not the slightest foundation in reality...
Don't worry, not picking on you.. This entire thread is littered with this kind of post. No harm in it, given that we're obviously months away from having any realistic trades to discuss.

Why should we, we should do everything possible to hold onto our first rounder especially if he says he wants to come here (who knows). We got reamed in the tippet deal, excluding the apparent draft tampering the best we were ever gonna get for a top 10 forward (at the time) was jesse white and pick 19. I'm not suggesting my option is 100% fair for the lions but something like that should be achievable to get aish over the line, considering what they payed for beams, a top 15 mid in his prime at collingwood.Come on though. Vickery and a 2nd round pick will not attain Aish.
Just pay your first rounder and an out of favour midfielder and y'all will probably get the job done.
Not some tall hack and a pick that could be 30. Urgh

And get back the lost picksParticularly as that means we get to keep both our first round picks...

we are going to have to give away picks to get Aish, not sure why people would think otherwise - unless Danger is going of course then we will just be offsetting things anyway. Not the worst at all well done
Query is whether Richmond happy to lose top 10 draft pick for Lyons , they would have to be massively into him or he strings together some 25+ possession games before this year is out
Like it though !
When it comes to trading players, the safest assumption is that no player will be traded from the AFC unless they specifically request to be traded. The only exception to this rule in the last 15 years is Bernie Vince and he was traded due to a number of exceptional circumstances - Adelaide's need to get into the 1st round after the Tiprat penalties, his habit of cruising through his on-field performances, and the club tiring of him getting into trouble with his off-field antics. Adelaide are not averse to trading, but their trades only ever involve draft picks and players who want to leave of their own accord. Was only basing on the fact that they desperately need a key forward and Vickery and Lyons are wasted in the magoos, agree its all tealeaves and spitballs this time of year, just fun to see if anything like it comes true. As I said, no harm in it given the lack of real trades to discuss. I just think it's unrealistic to suggest trading players like JJ & Lyons, given the club's history. These trades sound great on paper (or computer screens), but the reality is that there's almost no chance of them happening as the players have to sign off on the trades and none of the players listed have shown any indication of wanting to leave. In Lyons' case, the very opposite is true - he's had offers and decided to stay loyal to Adelaide.what do you expect from a possible trades thread though?
Didn't you tell us Walsh had guaranteed Lyons he was best 22 that's why he signed for 2 yearsThought you said the only thing keeping Tom Mitchell from playing was injury? Remember you saying he was best 22 for the Swans?
