Re: Scary to think we are being thrashed and Carlton aren't playing all that well

Nuff said.
As I said earlier in the week, possibly the worst team fielded by Collingwood since the 1999/2000 period. We have too many passengers; not enough class; poor on-field leadership; and a coach who is well and truly beyonf his use-by-date. Nothing more needs to be said!

Our depth is so good isnt it!!!

well i have seen at least 10 players today that arnt up to afl standard.

i reckon a vfl team would beat us today.

carlton realy should have beaten us by 100s

the skills of these players unfortunatly arnt there:

swan
toovey
cook
l brown
shaw
corrie
reid
wellingham

as well as we have too many girls in the team. and they were found out today

wellingham
cox
wood
cook

they just dont put their body on the line, and they might win u a few games against melbourne and so on, but when push comes to shove, these blokes are not up to it!!

and heath shaw surely has mental problems. i know he has A.D.D but i reckon theres a bit more in it!!!

we have a lot injuries, and put it this way. they would wanna come back in a hurry otherwise it is gunna get ugly!

no no, swanny is a great player dont get me wrong. love him., tries hard..
his skills this year have been woeful. obviulsy an injury affects his kicking, cause this year he has been a bit off

Re: Our depth is so good isnt it!!!

It is very difficult to cover half-a-dozen of your best players, no matter who you are, irrespective of your current depth.

If you are missing one or two, you can get away with it.

However, when you are missing a massive chunk, all of whom basically make up 1 area of your structure, it hurts and it hurts badly.

Sick of negative threads, ok is this positive enough

Another great game. Again another solid goal to half time. Ist it great to watch a bunch of guys run around a ground and dont really give a stuff. Lets keep MM for another 3 years as he knows his stuff. Allways likes to mix it up year after year, not like the coaches that keep on with the same playing style for years and years on end. Every one is playing really well and im very proud of them and to be a black and white fan. Only couple to let us down consistantly is Presti, Tarks and maxwell all the others must be inline for the brownlow.

Fun times ahead guys and gals. lets see now last 2 weeks, 232 against and 93 for. Im going to slip back and have a beer and look forward to the replay on TV tonight.:)

Fevola goal-less? :)

Heath Scotland gets the heave-ho from Reid? :)

Neon Goal-of-the-week? :)

82,000 fans just to shut Caro up? :)

Ok... clutching at straws...

Well done Pie Fans!

I would like to say a big thank you to all the 40,000 Collingwood supporter's who were leasving at 3 qtr time. It will show the Collingwood fc that we will no longer put up with shit!

Im excited!!!

well the reason why im excited is its not long until we will be saying well done to bucks on becoming our new coach ,i really think it closer then what a lot of other people think.:thumbsu:

Re: Well done Pie Fans!

I'd like to thank them for all turning up in the first place, even though pre=game most wouldn't have given a tinker's cuss for our chances of winning.

Re: Well done Pie Fans!

Seems the only way we can be heard is with our feet.

In saying that I stayed to the end, not out of nobility or anything, I simply want to watch the development of Sidebottom, Beams and Reid etc. I actually also think I am doing a dishonour to Presti if I leave early.
He never does, so I owe him that :)

I'm with you there, I'll probably start leaving games early once Presti retires, I just can't bring myself to leave him alone (he almost was today).

Re: Well done Pie Fans!

I left a 3qtr time as i did last week.
You beat the traffic and why waste time when you know you've lost and are pathetic.

Re: Well done Pie Fans!

You've just got to cop it I guess.

The boys are being soft, so I'm definitely not going to be.

Just have to cop it sweet for a while until things pick up again.

Prey for change, and give it back to the blues twice as hard next time.

Re: Well done Pie Fans!

I sat through the entire game until the final siren and then spent a bit of time with the Carlton and Collingwood faithful out front.

Unlike some I eat up the hard times with the bad.
I fully expected what happened today considering our horror injuries list and as a truly steadfast supporter was prepared to face the music.

I sat and spoke with 60 years old+ stalwarts who have seen the bad and the worse and we rejoiced in the fact that the true supporter is there for the good and the bad.

The Club has done something to upset the footy gods, be it Eddie having a whinge about the umps or Jack giving the odd groin a Liverpool kiss.

We'll ride it out and still be a contender in September. A flag may be a few years off but it is still in the offing.

Wood was the biggest disappointment of the game.

Bryan would have brought more heart to the competition and those who knock him, despite his lack of elite skills have always under estimated his effect on the side.

Injuries aside we'll be back in the winners circle very soon.

Hardship and loss are the best builders of hunger and with the side almost perpetually there abouts these last weeks should put a sting in the camp.
Aportioning blame is a very simple outlet for a supporters frustration and no doubt MM will wear the brunt for weeks to come, but looking for redemption may be the players salvation and the ultimate justification of our faith.

Go Pies.

Steadfast, loyal and always Black and White whether in victory or defeat.

Pie eyed.

But didaka if you stay til the end you are just accepting mediocrity! Out of the 82,800 fans that were at the game today around 45,000 were collingwopod supporter's and I bet by about the 10 minute mark of the last qtr only 5,000 would of been collingwood supporter's and the other 37,000 would of been blue fans!

I left at 3qtr time because I will no longer accept mediocrity and I always as a teenager use to stay till the end in the late 90's but will no longer do that because we as supporter's need to make it clear to the board that performances like this is unacceptable!

Let me tell you Collingwood will finish bottom four this year and I hope we tank the rest of the season to get atleast 1 good draft pick. I will no longer comment on how good or bad our list is until we get a new coach and see what they can do with the list. Collingwood should take a risk and appoint Bucks as coach for 3 years and see what he can do with the young players!

Look at essendon,. I don't think they have the most talented list but what they do have is a great and exciting game plan and the player's have full faith and trust in the coach and that is what the collingwood players at the moment do not have! Hopefully Bucks is our coach next year and if not I wouldn't mind chocco williams.

Re: Well done Pie Fans!

Its so dissapointing. Iam a fan of malthouse and what he has achieved in restoring our clubs professionalism and respect over the last ten years, but i know fear all that hard work can be undone if as it seems he no longer feels he will be part of Collingwood next year. We are playing with a total lack of passion and a game plan that gets picked to pieces by any moderatley in form team. We need reinventing and someone who will reinvigorate the players.

Further, I read Wakelin's article this morning and hope that Mcguire is not putting all his eggs in the Buckley basket. I sense a disaster in the making. We need to look at Choco or his ex assistant Hardwick. Someone who has more then a players reputation to move this club forward. We moved into this millenium with a forward thinking astute professionalism that has been modelled and adopted by other clubs, we need to be impartial and objective in picking our next coach.....
