There's tonnes of us who got a bashing for suggesting Bucks wasn't up to it over the past few years.

Those responsible have gone into hiding now though

Another frustrating game to watch, with lots of errors, a lot of heart and effort but......
The second half was hard fought and reasonably even.

There were some great positives though - Wells, Elliott and Moore. Good to see the young man boot a couple today.

Seriously I get the sentiment, but I wish people would stop with the unfounded optimism.

We are bad. The majority of our players are bad. The game plan is bad (which can only be a reflection of bad coaches).

Until there is a major shake up at our club we will continue to be bad.

Sometimes things don't translate well in writing, my post was more in the vein of commenting on our poor start rather than okaying the starting of post game threads early.

Sorry mate but that's not why we lost. We press forward, we retain the ball, we get multiple entries into our forward line. Problem is that our forward line is congested and we turn it over. The opposition then scores easy goals. Every team knows how to play us.
That's coaching and is the reason why Bucks is not successful

Absolutely.

Most of the inability to convert comes down to structure, recruiting, selection and game plan.

There is an irrefutable connection to coaching.

Most telling play for me ... 5 on 2 in our favour out on the wing. Yet all 5 players were guarding space. The Essendon bloke grabs the ball and 2 kicks later it's a shot on goal.

I read this forum weekly but seldom post. I love the opinions of you champions on here and it really burns to see everyone down.
Someone at the club needs to remember we are Collingwood. Get us someone who can coach, go and get the best football department.

Don't worry nahnah scodog has your back!

Not much to analyse out of that one... but.

- Wells really added something different to the stoppage mix because he does something none of the other core mids do. He remains on the move.
- Crisp much improved. Giving him the run with on Heppell really released him after it appeared he was just playing out time until JDG returned.
- Elliott was much better second up.
- Howe is in AA form. Aside from last weeks gaffe he hasn't put a foot wrong this year.
- No injuries

Beyond that there wasn't much else to say. The way we overpossess the ball means everyone looks both good and bad in patches. The sooner we break the shackles and develop a game plan that suits the group the better, but when that will be is anyone's guess. It's just frustrating that blind Freddy could see who would hold the key to them today yet we didn't adjust to suit...

FWIW throwing the pieces around with WHE and Reid in the last appeared the move of a desperate man.

That's what makes me really sad - the poor skiils, decisions, clangers, feeling like i don't enjoy watching the team play.

In 2017 it has slid to its lowest point since 1999.

I'm out. Membership cancelled. That was a pitiful show of apathetic players and unskilled towards.

Not quite that simple. Can't just blame the cattle even though they are partially responsible. Why recruit players that are unable to kick, or why not have the coaches focus on improving our conversion?

Actually Jmac, the reason Buckley is not successful is

#1 He hasn't got his team yet
#2 Injuries
#3 Umpires
#4 Inability to convert goals

So you see.. none of it is really Bucks fault ....
