Eagles would want to keep him for 6-7 years and be well back in contention if they were to lose him. We all know contracts mean nothing. If players want out, they get what they want. Let’s hope for WC he realises how successful a club he is joining. The Eagles have been the most successful club of the AFL era. 4 flags and 7 GF appearances after missing out a heap of home finals in the nineties and having to play the GF at the MCG.

Let’s hope he realises that he is could one day be part of the 5th Eagles flag. It trumps any premiership from a Victorian club who gets to play the GF at their home ground.

most probably a joke that went over your head. After all he was with Nic Nat who was recruited from Swans Districts and their home ground is in Bassendean.
and was speaking to Andrew Embley who is from Bassendean and in a previous interview with Embley spoke about Bassendean

Maybe but they wouldn’t with suns
Can't get in trouble for paying family members when you put them on your playing list. It was short lived but Gaz loved playing with Nathan.

If he lives up to the hype, even if he does leave, the return they'll get for him will be huge. For Judd, they got pick 3, 20 and Kennedy. North got pick 2 and 3 and a future first round for JHF after a year! Absolute no brainer to keep pick 1 and draft him.
Wasn't part of what north got to do with pick swaps and other players? Judd was pretty much just for those you mentioned though

Tend to agree with this and I reckon that's exactly what the Eagles thought too.

Who care about "flight risk".

If he's any good they will get a heap back (like North did with JHF) and if he's totally rubbish then who cares anyway.

I dont see a downside for the Eagles in drafting him.
Either he's good and stays
Good and leaves and they get a lot back anyway

Yeah but north still did pretty well from JHF leaving. I think pick 3 and a future first?

Especially given they'd been telling the world how bad a bloke he was etc..
