So now that we know for sure that we are facing Sydney, I'd thought I'd make the thread now.

I think Sheridan will be gone for Johnson. Who else?

Yeah from all reports that should be the only one. Match ups will be looked at but this will be the best team we have put on the park all year. Cannot wait!!

Maybe ibbotson for Sutcliffe if ibbotson is fit enough. Neale sub. Although Sutcliffe has been good so would be a tough call to leave him out.

Don't think we can afford to have both Ibbo and Mcpharlin in the same back line, with both missing so much footy. Mj in for Tommy the only change.

Ibbotson would be a massive risk. Not sure he strikes me as the sort who could step into a prelim and immediately adjust to the tempo. Plus he'd be severely lacking match fitness. I think his year is over.

Sydney have an amazing record in big finals interstate. They have rolled Port away in a qf (03), Stk away in a prelim 05, WCE away in a qf 06, Adelaide away in a qf 12 and hawks away (I guess) in 2012 GF. All these games they were underdogs and if I remember correctly in 2003 against Port they were missing a few guns like they may this week.

I'm still confident but don't underestimate them. The whole bloods culture & backs to the wall will mean they will be ready to go.

For sure. What's more, we will be in the strange territory of being favorites against the premiers. The pressure will be huge on the boys. However, I wouldn't trade Lyon for anyone in terms of focus. The boys will be on task. The 1st quarter will be war

You know what is going to be exciting about this game ?? Expect a brilliantly played game of ducks and drakes by both coaches this week. Expect Tippet and Goodes on the plane even if they have no intention of playing them. Expect Ross to declare Ibbo has made a miraculous recovery, or a player to be "sorer" than expected. Then Simpson or Chrighton to train with the team as scapegoats.
I think it is going to be like a game of Cluedo this week and its going to be fun piecing the puzzle together with the Big Footy team !!!

Last night at the end of the game I thought for sure we were toast in the prelim, but now I don't even care. We'll come out firing 110% in the first quarter and it'll be on, nothing to lose. I still reckon your mob will get up but we won't be making it easy for you. :D should be an absolute cracker can't wait. Good luck lads.

Agreed despite their current/impending injury and suspension concerns they essentially had a bye last night as well. They've got a damn good record over here as well; although to be honest the last time they played us here was in 2010 (which we lost). They do have a good record over West Coast though so they can play the ground.

Reckon this game may be similar to the Geelong game; they'll start strong and jump with us a strong lead in the first, we'll spend the second clawing our way back. The third will see us get on top in the lead, and the fourth will see us grind out the time to win anywhere between 10-20 points.
