PSD/Rookie Draft

Don't think anyone we could take has a higher ceiling than Morabito. Not sure if we've beefed up our medical department, but if we can trust our guys to get something out of those knees, would be an ideal low risk high reward scenario.

The reality you ignore is painfully obvious, "if", and with the track record he has you choose to stick your head in the sand! No more fantasies with recruiting please, only cold hard facts and REALITY! Thank god SOS is exactly that!

A bit perplexed at the moment.
Have believed this thread was futile.
We have not flagged a change to a 40/4 model,
and with the list lodgements, other clubs
have nominated rookie upgrades, we have not.

Keep us guessing Blues.

How do you think we'd go about flagging any changes to our current list model?

I don't think that money will be an issue the way it may have been previously and for fairness sake, we may just upgrade anything up to 3 players.
We don't have to of course, but who knows.

No idea what's being discussed behind closed doors right now but given the clearing of the decks we've had we may well be into at least one DFA/and or a player to enter the PSD.

I think we can afford to be flexible, right now.

You're not drafting recruiting fantasies in the Rookie Draft.

If you're going to tell me categorically that his playing days are over, then fine. Otherwise he's exactly what the rookie draft is there for.

Yep, suits us to a tea...View attachment 189732

Though half of the delisted players are apparently suited to us..

Robbie Warnock
Age: 28
Clubs: Fremantle (2007-2008), Carlton (2010-2015)
Games: 88

2015 summary: Appeared in rounds five and eight but suffered season-ending multiple shoulder dislocations in his second match.
Pros: Experienced depth ruckmen can be good value if clubs get them on the cheap and Warnock has shown he does have talent.
Cons: Is coming off a bad shoulder problem, and has had injury issues which have knocked his confidence.
Would suit: North Melbourne, Brisbane Lions and St Kilda
- Travis King

Travis King has something against the Roos, Lions and Saints?

There was a school of thought once we wouldn't pick anyone incapable of playing 100 games for us.

Matthew Wright isn't much younger than Ellard.

Only 6 months or so difference..

Wright: December 14, 1989 (age 25)
Ellard: March 13, 1989 (age 26)

I think we have enough mature players that can lead the young. We don't need any more bench warmers I'd rather we spend the time in giving out kids a go
:thumbsu:

Kerridge 22, Whiley 22, Lamb 23, Graham 21, Sumner 22, Buckley 22, Boekhorst 22, Docherty 22 are hardly 'kids' any more in any case.

I've seen him at Preston and the NBs and St Kilda and he just isn't the answer to any of our issues. He's been tried over several years and although he may pop up with a handful of goals every now and then he just lacks consistency and class.

Ah OK. Consistency was one thing a was concerned about, which is why he got the chop from the Saints I think, but was a good finisher at times. I was up watching GC v the Saints at Metricon the year before he was suspended and he tore GC a new one in that game.

Would think we take a look at zac Obrien, simpkin and golby?

Would be more keen on the first two.
Several state league talls would be of interest too.

Nah, Sam Kerridge is just fine...

If only we played Norf 22 times a year.

Sam Grimely?

I'd be looking at Grimley over Gorringe and Daws (who's out of the picture with Norf re-rookieing him).

Kreuzer is our #1 ruck with Wood as his back-up/understudy.

Casboult is our #2 ruck/forward and Grimley would make a perfect understudy for him. Gorringe is questionable even at NEAFL level, and has been cursed with big man injuries.

Phillips is a speculative 'in case of emergency break glass and start crying' player who's going to spend a year at the Bullants.

Sam Grimely?

old Grimey eh
