Why not play the game at headquarters? The only reason they didn’t play would be because of canteen and bar takings.

An embarrasment for QAFL. Surfers ground being closed would have been a Gold Coast Council ruling, who deemed Mt Gravatt unfit BCC ?

20 round comp (plus a bye = 21) with 12 teams. Thats 6 games per weekend, Everyone should play eachother 3 times. 2 game plus a bye to spare. The last 2 rounds teams could be drawn out of a hat FFS! Im sure those in positions of influence complicate things just to make it look like they are doing something, or have some value, when what it really looks like is chaos!
Nah 12 teams = 22 rounds.
But we have 21 with two byes = 19 games so some clubs will only play each other once like coastal said

math a bit off there mate. 12 teams - if everyone played each other 3 times, that's 33 rounds . . .Pretty sure its 21.... but there are 2 byes... (round 1, and round 14) here.. where are 22? So thats 19 rounds. Everyone COULD play eachother 3 times.... and 1 extra round.

Hang on.. Math aint my long suit. Not enough room for creativity.. ha!
11 weeks make a full round. 22 weeks would make another. Plan for that, and let the weather muck it up... or get rid of 2 teams.

All the clubs agreed on 18 H&A games, and agreed that just like the AFL, the fixture would never be 'fair' but offset this by having a top 6 instead of top 5.

Obviously not. I keep it simple.
Also, the ANZAC weekend would be; Boys academy u19s vs a QAFL U19s, QLD womens vs a Lions womens, followed by an QLD vs Lions reserves. Play it at Grange if nessesary. Better at Springfield..
QLD mens side should be made up mostly of 19 to 25yo QAFL, Nth QLD, and regional QLD players, preferably not ex-VFL players, though perhaps a couple even despite age, to add experience.
QLD could also play a game vs Suns ressies at some point before or after, preferably in Cairns.
Just start QAFL a week earlier to get it done.

Surfers drains really well, just the Centre cricket pitch is the problem.

If all this predicted massive rainfalls occur as predicted from tomorrow thru to friday I would say there will be no footy qafl wise this weekend .

Apparently there was more going on than just wet weather with the game at Mt Gravatt being called off on the weekend. Seems there was also a 'weed infestation being investigated'.
