What about respect where it really counts – Richmond.
Do you think the football world respects us?
Are you sick and tired of making excuses for your club every Monday at work/school/wherever?
Are you the joke at school/work/wherever?
On Monday morning, do you sneak into school/work/wherever hoping no-one will see you?
Do you avoid the arrogant Essendon/Geelong/Melbourne/St Kilda/Collingwood/Carlton etc workmates/school friends?
When Richmond win, do you sink the boot in just for that momentary pleasure, knowing you may never get another chance lol?
Are the words “humble” and “gracious” in your vocabulary when we win?
Have you ever thought of supporting another team in all your days supporting the Tiges?
Do you think there will come a day when we will have the respect we crave?
Or are you content to be a whipping boy/girl for another 20 years lol

Never thought about supporting another team Froars , go and wash your mouth out with soap

Fact is , at the minute , our club is an absolute laughing stock . It is a hard burden to bare . The icing on the cake is the recent election . To the bulk of the uneducated minions out there , the result of that election is one they cannot understand . Why would we put a bloke back in who has lost 3 Mill in 2 years ? On face value it does look pretty stupid but these people do not understand the machinations of our great club .

I think the seed to revolution is forgetting about the past and creating a new punt rd. To draw on our history mean to draw on the last 20 years , and that has to be forgotten . And to go beyond that it is getting to the point where we need Indiana Jones to dig it up for us .

We will regain respect , in time , but for now i believe that we need to shut up , eat some humble pie , suck it up , and wait for our time .

And then UNLEASH

I sometimes wonder what the difference is between a well run club and that of a shambles.

No doubt we have been a shambles over the past 20 years. This fact cannot be hidden. While we have had moments of getting somethings right, we have never had all things right at the one time. It may click for us on field but we lose truckloads of money or have a coach resign after taking us to 3rd. We may suck onfield but still make truckloads of money as our admin had got itself together - ie., during the Daphne years.

Then I look at Port Adelaide. Full marks and all respect from building themselves up from a rabble when they first joined the competition to winning a premiership. It appears that they had a strategy wrt recruitment and they stuck with it. Well done.

However, how can Port Adelaide explain what is happening off the field? After winning a premiership, they should be rolling in the money. Nothing succeeds like success (or near success in the case of Collingwood). It is the one time that all supporters are jumping, membership sales and attendances are high, corporations want to be seen with 'success' and merchandising goes through the roof.

Why then are Port Adelaide cutting right back due to budgetary problems?

It must now be a very fine line.

I think you're onto something there. Our trouble is we are always looking back too, and wanting for, the glory days. They're gone, they've been history for longer than alot of new Tigers' lives.

Keep respect for the past. But forget about it. We are not that club anymore, and the world is not that world anymore.

It's a Brave New AFL and we're living in the past.

Glad that the former champions of the past in the Big 4 vticket failed. Shows signs we are ready to begin our future.

IDGAF on one hand you say why re-elect someone who has lost 3mil in 2yrs and then you say we should forget about the past.
Wasnt the alternative tickets platform was in fact bringing "the past" back to the club?

cheers!

You must have mis-read my post TOO , I`m talking about other peoples perceptions of our club visa-v re-electing Casey . I`m a Casey man but we are copping a bucket load from the buffoons out there who are not all that well acquainted with our affairs.

Mouth has been washed out – sorry lol. I will write on the blackboard a hundred times “I am a Judas” lol.

Never thought about it myself, because I’ve seen all the good times – 5 flags. But I do know there’s ppl who ain’t seen nothing but a win over the Bombers in the 1995 semi, so it begs the question have they considered another team.

I’m sick of losing, sick of talking about losing money, sick of talking about dud players that wouldn’t make it any other club – but we somehow manage to get them at the Tiges.

Sick of other supporters having that stupid grin on their faces when Richmond stuffs up yet again. I don’t care whether we have their respect or not, or the football world’s for that matter. I just want them hating us again and not pitying us.

I am an obnoxious supporter – my greatest thrill going to work this year was to say to people “are you looking forward to watching the Tiges pick up the best kids in the draft” lol. Nothing else to write home about in 2004. Or congratulating the Hawks supporters on their drafting wisdom lol. That’s pretty sad and pathetic.

Yeah , LOL at stupid grins on faces , my biggest mistake this year was absolutely sticking to the Scumwood supporters after rnd. one and all of them firing back , don`t worry you will finish up on the bottom by the end of the year........... the pri.ks were right
