Anyone else feel like rushing Murray and Rankine back in is a mistake?

Sydney will belt us, why risk either of those 2 when the buy is next week?

Self-preservation at management level?

Still the most obvious, pissweak bare minimum changes you can imagine.
should give Rankine another week and with the bye he would be cherry ripe, with his hammy history

Oh dear and it doesn't look any better on paper...

If the Crows win this it will be the Victory of the century, actually if we get within 6 goals it will be massive surprise home ground advantage and all.

Not rating the list Hamish has put together?

I agree with you - But weirdly, there is no real pressure on us this game.

Yes we have been under the media blowtorch, but no one actually expects us to win the game.

Funnily, Crows have actually played OK against decent oppo when there is 0 expectation.

To be clear - I cannot see us winning, but I just feel this could be one of those 'weird' games where we may actually turn up and play above ourselves and it could be close.

Possible line-up to mix things up...

B: Keane, Butts, Hinge
HB: Laird, Murray, Jones
C: Dowling, Soligo, Nankervis
HF: Rachele, Fogarty, Keays
F: Cook, Borlase, Dawson
R: Strachan, Michalanney, Rankine
I: Hamill, Berry, Sholl, Murphy
Sub: Schoenberg

Max v Heeney
Soligo v Warner
Nankervis v Gulden
Keays v Blakey

Run deep midfield rotations.

While our drafting hasn't been spectacular, there is enough evidence that Nicks isn't maximising the talent on the list either. We can blame Hamish all we like but Nicks shares the blame for this.

I did call in another thread that Tex won't play until after the bye and doesn't surprise me.

Murphy at FF hurts my souls, happy with the outs and ins, Rankine will provide me with something good to watch.

There are players I still want out (Murphy/Jones) and players I want in (Curtin/Taylor?!?!), and Laird in the midfield name is gonna have a talent of Dowling rot in HF again to accommodate Laird in the midfield.

I have got the same feeling in particular if its low scoring in the wet. I am expecting Sydney to be a bit flat after last week.

Yeah and pinch hit in the ruck. Nothing wrong with Murray, Keane and Butts in the backline. Played with Keane, Butts and Worrell for a good chunk of the season.
And did we see some posts earlier when the cry was for more defensive aerial cover. Doods playing KPD for example. How times have changed...

Theres not one crows fan that would have murphy in front of taylor.

How's Murphy and Jones still in the side?
Seems like Nick's game plan is fixated on having two smalls play, too bad the 3 of them suck.

Jones had 14 disposals at 50% efficiency last week. How's that worth getting selected again

Not only that but Jones was consistently beaten one on one. He didn't even defend well.

Oh I agree, i would not have murphy in front of half the sanfl players either. But that has nothing to do with my case. Murphy has no talent to maximise. I'm talking about the extended list, the players he doesn't trust. The negative game plans.

Murray has been running and training for a long period. Probably not much of a risk after two full games back. Rankine is the bigger risk coming back from a hamstring.

I guess the argument for including him is that he is still learning a new role, and gametime as a mid is pretty valuable. I'd probably have left Rankine another week and just included Murray, but I think we have a pretty decent record with injury management in recent years so you have to give the fitness team the benefit of the doubt.
Happy with that but if he pings it... you can just hear the chorus. "Why risk your best player in a dead rubber one week before a bye".
If he does this, it will be viewed by everyone in football as the dumbest decision in football for years.

Let's just hope he gets through unscathed.

It sucks to see it as he's been such a good player for us. The cliff has come though.

He’s looked like he’s been playing with leg weights on all year. Wouldn’t surprise if he’s carrying and instead of missing games and getting right, he’s rolled the dice on his senior player golden pass outlasting his games trigger.
