Butts vs Murray is now a genuine conversation

Been a breakout year for Jordon
Nicks interviewed pre-game basically said if Butts holds his current form Murray isn't an automatic selection

Murray is going to be playing SANFL for a while unless either Butts or Keath Keane get injured or their form falls off of a cliff was my take

Good + Bad
Max showing he can play a role up forward, cool an opposition threat plus hit the scoreboard.

Great to have that option and well done to the coaches for exploring that avenue of flexibility in an unlosable game.

However... we only did it because we've spent the whole bye round racking our brains, trying to invent ways for us to squeeze all three of Smith, Milera and Laird in down back.

Are we really playing Max up forward against Brisbane? Who matches up on De Goey vs Collingwood?

If Max slid forward today with Cumming going to half back and a high half forward to the wing, that's flexibility we can realistically use moving forward.

The Good

-Curtin - GTFO - This kid is a star. One of the most exciting prospects I have seen at the club for two decades. Will be a top 10 player in this competition for a decade.

-Worrell - Maynard, Viska, Torney, Bassett etc - one of the most courageous players I have seen in a Crows guernsey. AA contender, surely.

-Keane - I was a critic, but I was wrong.

-RT - Gun. You don't risk your number 1 player in the ruck.

-Butts - destroyed Lynch.

-Milera - had one ugly moment but building nicely.

-Michalanney - Coaching masterstroke. Tough kid.

The Ugly

-Rankine as midfielder. He's a match winner in the forward line but not a midfielder.

-Murphy in the midfield - lol - back to the bad old days. We have Draper, Taylor, Dowling, Edwards playing SANFL yet we continue to play this skill less, low football IQ embarrassing hack.
Rankine has proven as a match winner in the midfield numerous time last year. He is just having an ok season without being as influential as last year and not as explosive in the centre like last year (maybe still worry about his hamstring).

It's a good place for your list to be in. Only 6 weeks ago I would have said Murray was a walk-up inclusion but Butts and especially Keane have been great.

Not really a whole lot to talk about with that one. Team did a professional job against Richmond and was a pretty comfortable 68 point win.

Great:
Curtin with the breakout performance, 26 disposals/2 goals/3 goal assists/3 clearances/8 intercepts/11 score involvements/5 tackles. He's been building for a while, and good to see him cement this run with a big one; especially impressive is that he did it in all facets of the game.

Good:

Michaelanny with 3 goals as a defensive small. Kind of a ridiculous performance considering.
Thilthorpe gets the shot to the arm his AA bid needed. 5 goals/16 disposals/2 goal assists/12 score involvements does shake off a lot of the damage a sluggish few weeks brings.
Worrell AA bid strengthens with another big game. 24 disposals/11 marks/9 intercepts.
Berry 23 disposals/3 clearances/1 goal helps pad out his resume at the moment. Needs to get a move on with his production.
Butts, Keane and Worrell absolutely slaughtered Lynch.

Bad:
If Rachele isn't managing an injury, I don't like that sub at all. Richmond were a soft kill and Rash was another player who would have benefited from strengthening his AA bid. Also got to wonder what was the point of Murphy's selection instead of Draper considering the usage.

What an absolute weapon Dan Curtin is on the wing.... Perfect position for him as can influence everywhere and will always outmark his opponent.

That last passage of play where he gathered the ball cleanly, broke through a tackle, sped away and bounced and kicked perfectly 50 metres to TT... ELITE.

that breakout game will give him stacks of confidence. Could be a real X factor in September :hearts: :praying:

Good (for at least one individual) - not much traffic after that laughable crowd allowing Balta to make it home comfortably before curfew.

Might even be able to stop in for a pizza.
Is that why they brought the game forward?

I am interested in the Rachele subbing. There were a couple of his defensive efforts that were poor.

Was it punishment?
Nicks isnt the sort of bloke that normally reacts to players performance, hence Murphy getting games.

After that game I am DONE with Nick's.
That man is a COMPLETE idiot and a TOTAL loser!!!!!
Subs off Rachelle after kicking 2 goals and showing plenty to give his love child Murphy a run who is a complete liability and shouldn't be on the list.
Why Draper didn't play that game is beyond me???
Nick's is the opposite of Blight.
Negative, weak, conservative coward.
We will NEVER win a premiership with this clown is charge. Bookmark that !!!
