"And the umpire puts the whistle to his mouth because he sees... he's about to ping him for carrying on with the tackle for too long, but he put the whistle away and that allowed the ball to go forward!"

Steady on guys, he was a poor landing away from getting a three match suspension.
Couldn't believe this when I heard it. 'umpire decided not to pay a blatant free kick after he's noticed it, how good!'

Matt has higher career value, Brad had higher peak value. If I could pick either player in 100% physical condition without the baggage of injuries, I'm going with Brad.

Matt had higher peak value too, he was an All Australian and B&F winner in 2017

I don’t want to start an argument about ratings stats, but if you want an indicator of how dominant a game that was by us, have a look at this. 17 of the top 20 rated players on the ground were crows. And would have been 18 if Rankine wasn’t subbed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so lopsided sided.

Yep I posted this yesterday. Amazing.

I wouldn't mind either Peatling or Cumming as sub next week,

Not that they are bad or on the fringe etc... Just want to see Sid get a full game, he deserves it. At home in Adelaide against a young Norf midfield is the perfect time.

:praying:
Suspect we've promised them the first 22 spots to get them to come over.

Good: The Murray Davis Effect.
Bad: Inconsistent umpiring.
Ugly: HTB rule is a complete ****ing mystery week to week, actually game to game, or better contest to contest.

Gold Coast will be a good measure. We will have to improve to be a top 4 side.

GWS, Geelong, GC, Hawks, Lions will cut us up otherwise.

Only if we have learned to play against a floating defender like Tom Stewart or James Sicily!

How many times do we kick to the loose man in defence when we have a tall forward line? How many times will we hear that we need to ‘trust the process’ - just F’n man up the floating defender!

That was the perfect goal. Rankine bursting out from centre straight towards goal, lowering the eyes and keeping distance between him and the guy chasing him and hitting a leading thilthorpe coming at him at full tilt. Frame that
I immediately thought ‘Judd’ when I saw that centre clearance. Not many in history that have been able to burst away from stoppage with such effectiveness

Had a wedding to attend on Saturday so wasn't able to catch all of the game live and reading some of the comments in here regarding Keane I thought he must have had a stinker.

I watched the replay expecting howler after howler but I didn't notice him, or his errors, that much to be honest.

I love what he brings to the team and is a far better option that Butts, given his attacking nature.

Sure, he will make some errors as he is still learning the game of AFL, but gee the overreaction is a little much by some.

The two obvious ones were his hold on Draper for the first goal of the game and the one where he got tackled after holding onto the ball for too long. 2 direct goals

It was a sideways floating drop-torp. Never looked like missing :rolleyes::rolleyes:
By design. Elite kick. Ran hard right knowing he's a left footer, precisely executed the ball drop off centre to get a bit of sideways spin and followed through to get that precise slice action and allowing the wind to help finish the job off.

That's what I'm going with anyway.

It feels nice being 2-0 that’s what I’ve got to say :D
It's easy to miss sight of the simple things when we have flogged 2 teams who may suck, or may not, but simply getting the runs on the board early for this group is quite valuable. Nothing is a given these days, so thumping these teams when presented the opportunity is a great sign. Actually coming out breathing fire rather than waiting until we're 5 goals down.

At the game the biggest thing for me was our spread - we simply worked harder and got into space, and that opened up the game. I know some are saying Peatling and Cumming were quiet, but I still felt they linked up well when they had to. They are also able to pressure the opposition more than those they are replacing in the side. Funny that a little extra pace can actually help the side. We may need to change up the defence though when player smaller fwd lines like Hawthorn...would like to see Bond come back in at some point for that situation.
