Not an exact swap, but McAsey's absence created the hole in the list that Keane filled if that helps.

Wowee! I’ll start with Hawthorn. Their pressure in the first quarter was elite and that wall led by Siscilly (sp?) looked frustratingly unbeatable. I saw a smashing on the cards. That second quarter was scintillating and then I thought we were going to run away with it.

Most importantly it was a finals style of game and to get that win was bloody amazing. How many Thursday or Friday night games have Carlton and Bombers had this year? AFL are idiots!

Not much to dislike. Bit of a slow start I suppose.

Curtin getting better every week. Milera had a decent game again. Rankine looking as good as ever.

Keays had a bit of an off night as did Peatling. Both are usually barometer type players for us. But that just shows we have multiple ways to get it done.

I have been a critic of Nicks (like many of us) but there is no doubt the players are with him. And that was really well done at quarter time not panicking. Also made a pretty early sub of Cook. Putting Dan in the middle at the start of the 4th is a heads up move.

You could see the emotion in his voice in the post game interview. The thing I loved the most was his admission that it has been a team effort from both players and coaching staff. He is definitely learning.

Thought Berry was pretty good tonight without having any real highlights to show for it. Great lesson and confidence builder for him. Attended a lot of center bounces, played against good mids all night, won a bit of ball, got some clearances, applied pressure well most of the time, a few lapses but he gets them out of his game soon.

As soon as we're good, Cornes likes to jump on and talk up our chances so that if we fail he can go even harder. Won't be long and we'll start seeing "Anything less than a flag is a failure for Adelaide" from him.

I remember a center bounce last year against Essendon with 30 seconds left and the game on the line where Nicks had Taylor and Bond attending.

Most of Nicks improvement haven't been he's a better coach, he just has a deep enough list.

I love that at the start of the last quarter when the game was in the balance in such a vital game the coaches were brave enough to throw Curtin in the centre square and he didn't disappoint. Curtin is going to be a star. Full credit to our coaches tonight.
