Did we keep our powder dry to a degree? Let Nick Daicos run free, whereas if we come up against them in September he'll be having someone hang off him every second?
if You believe (Uncle) Eddie Murphy, Lachie should be praised for restricting Jaicos:
Murph played a big role in quelling J. Daicos. Had a role, he came in and he executed. Our defence would have had a much harder time handling so many i50s if Jaicos was the one delivering it. Surely some credit is due.
What the poster has missed is that they had 71 I50s and Jaicos delivered several of them.
Also, Murphy laid one tackle, all game. One.

If you want to really treat yourselves with a completely deluded fan base, go roll into the Collingwood game autopsy thread. The umps tried to walk them home in the first half and they are bleating that we got the dream ride from them...what on earth were they watching bwahahah..

16 frees to 5 second half? If it was the other way around crows fans wouldn't be saying the same (and rightly so) ?

Delusion... You are right about that.

That's Josh Daicos

Yeah-but-nah; read his reply.

I love to bag Murphy as much as the next person but he wasn't our worst tonight. He did a decent job quelling Josh Daicos. Some of Daicos' touches were kick outs as well.
Him winning that one on one contested ball against Nick Daicos (in I think the 2nd quarter) is the best thing he’s done in his career. Actually, just after the Dawson free in the Showdown haha

Or

and hear me out but

Did Jaicos just have a bad night?

Was so good to get the win after not being at our best again. We struggled with their pressure early and in everything just seemed to go their way in that first quarter.

But the belief in our team is different this year, even when we are down by 4-5 goals, the guys don't drop their heads, they always seem to find a way to get back into the game.

Feels amazing to be sitting top of the ladder as we are about to head into finals... bring it on!

We feel like… Collingwood. The year they won!

In the last quarter Thilthorpe's shoulder started to bother him. I think there was enough pain to affect his running. And his shoulder was lower one side.

I hope he recovers.

With all the other things running around in my head. This seems the most important.

Don't play him against North. Just don't select Burgess.

Ah, yeah I figured this was an outlier. It did seem unusual. What do you attribute this mini slump too? Maybe the end of a long season? I just hope you don't stumble and lose to North. After nearly losing to us you should guard against it. I guess you'll finish top 2 anyway, but finish 1st you'll likely play GC or Collingwood at home against. 2nd its more likely Geelong or Brisbane.

It's happened a couple of times, and usually follows when we get smacked at clearance. Which is the sides achillies at the moment which is we can be made to be uncompetitive in that aspect.

Just seems like we're one inside midfielder off (say, a Matt Crouch, though Nicks mentioning soreness is a right concern there).

For a shutdown job it was poor. There was no body contact, no body checks, no niggle, he just sat 4 - 5 metres off him and followed him around. And got torched a few times with pure leg speed. A SANFL top up player could do that.

We looked like a side that had 4 days less break, after playing in Perth against a team that brought unbelievable pressure and we were totally spent.
We should be a lot better next week and in finals not having that massive disadvantage.

Having said that, we continue to get destroyed in clearances and find a way to win courtesy of our unbelievable defence.
But I don’t hold out a lot of hope for going all the way. Geez I hope I’m wrong though.
