So if we win this week we should get no credit, and if we get dog walked Nicks should be fired
Nicks should be fired regardless.

But otherwise, pretty much, yeah. I expect we will win and win well partly because we are a good team and partly because the cards are stacked in our favour.

But I will revisit the first of those propositions if we lose today.

It is just worth noting here that last night Brisbane played an opponent with whom they are pretty closely matched. Under normal circumstances, you would have Brisbane as luke warm favourites at home.

They played on a 30+ degree day five days earlier.

The game was pretty tight until half time - conversion the only real difference between the teams. And then the Lions stopped to a walk in the second half and Collingwood blitzed them.

We definitely were not perfect last week either on the field or in the coaches' box. But I think we win that game - maybe even comfortably - on a level playing field.

We were 6 days 5 days and Cats were 6 days 6 days with 2 away games to our 1. Our disadvantage was nowhere near turning a 19 point deficit into a comfortable win.

We played in 30 odd degrees and high humidity, the Cats played a night game at home after a trip to Brisbane

There's no question it made a difference.

But there is and even if there wasn't, how much of a difference did it make? Cats might have played at night but the temp and humidity was no different.
I don't think you have to be that bright to work out a night game in Geelong wouldn't have had the same heat or humidity as an afternoon on the Gold Coast.

Big day yesterday ??

I'm referring to their Brisbane game. Statistically, a single short break has no impact on the result, but back to backs do, which is why we need to compare both club's full lead in. Brisbane were 6 days 6 days starting in Brisbane under the same conditions as our Suns game and travelling twice. We were 6 days 5 days starting at home and travelling once. The difference isn't that great.
