He always will. He’s never going to be a skilled ruck. But he works his butt off. Gave our mids first use. He’s had one putrid game. Last week.
He's been terrible in every match until today. We have very low standards for ROB

Good:
The final siren

Having Murray back to shore up the defence.

ROB - played like his career was on the line. Annihilated Briggs. Sure there were some sloppy kicks but no sloppier than Dawson or Rankine tbh. Would not be surprised if he receives 6-10 coaches votes. If he even played like this 6-8 times a season, nobody would sh*tcan him.

Michalanney - destroyed Greene. Again, 6-10 coaches votes for mine.

Hinge - bounced back strongly after his gong show last week.

Walker - continues to contribute strongly.

Keays - workrate was first class.

ANB - did a lot of important stuff despite some skill errors.

Bad:
Dawson and Rankine’s disposal and decision making was beyond belief. Yes I know there were some trying conditions, but not to that level.

Draper. Needs a spell. Now.

Nankervis - just continually did the wrong thing with ball in hand with weird up and under kicks.

Berry - not AFL standard.

Nicks’ refusal to care about stopping Whitfield.

Ugly:
Fogarty injury - feels like a 3-4 week type deal. Hopefully not longer.

The GWS mindset of refusing to play direct football was baffling.

The general skill level of that game.

Massive win for the club and Nicks

4-2 feels so far ahead of 3-3 for some reason. Got a real springboard now.

It was a real Phil Walsh Just Get The Job Done game and we did.

We seemed to defend a lot deeper. Kept numbers in the D50. Conceded some pretty cruisy transitions from their D50 (a worry?) but were structured up and ready to absorb them.

Umpiring was shit house. We got the better of it. Christ it was bad

The entire game of AFL falls apart when holding the ball isn't properly enforced.

We went through this last year, why do we need to do it again this year?

Not sure about being able to retreat from standing the mark, either - invalidates the stand rule.

It was tough to watch and almost laughable how neither side was able to play to conditions, especially the first half with that blustery wind. But it was a game we really needed to win and we did so move on and hope Fog is not too bad

I don't think we're using Draper very well at all. Classic example of Nicks not really knowing what to do with him

Needs some SANFL time to build confidence then back into the AFL side in a different role

Agreed

They've absolutely lost the plot this season

At one stage two umpires blew the whistle for a bounce in the middle. They didn't even know who was in charge.

The combo of Nicks and VB not using a young midfielder very well at all?

Knock me down with a feather.

Berry was a real worry...

Perfect conditions for him and didn't really show anything....

Dowling and Schoenberg have to be worth a look net week surely.

Rachelle (hopefully) for Fogarty seems logical
