Bont was gone by our first pick though

I was taking that he Meant Cripps would be the Number 1 Pick but yeah Cripps would been number 1 on the Board at our Pick

After Hine pulled off that audacious swap of picks with West Coast to land pick 6, missing Bontempelli has proved to already be the biggest draft disappointment. A once in a generation player slipped through our fingers likely due to the late surge of publicity linking us to him

6: Aish
10: McCarthy

Well Carlton was Spot On and Looks like a Steal at the Moment
So the Hines of the other clubs don't eavesdrop on our Hine's selections but rather those of Carlton's Hine! Because he gets to steal, while we just get robbed of our picks by injuries.

Okay. Heres a list of players better
-Hugh Goddard
-Touk Miller
-Brayden Maynard
and Laverde.

I've seen him play more than once, He's a lazy footballer.
Fair enough I think those players are better too, but Boekhorst is only in his second year I wouldn't write him off just yet.

My girlfriend is a Carlton supporter (don't ask.lol) I went to games with her and he hardly chased or anything. I saw Clem Smith play too and boy has he gone backwards since his draft year. I think he (Boekhorst) at best can be a "good" player, I just can't see him being a star.

Fair enough, I'm actually surprised Clem Smith was given games considering his poor tank.

Cripps over Aish. Most people do that swap right away.

I like Cripps but we already have a good stock in inside midfielders, would prefer the class of Aish IMO.

If Scharenberg fulfils his potential he could turn out to be the best player in the draft, until he gets on the park we won't know for sure.
Potential is a dirty word at times. I think you are referring to the potential he had when drafted. That doesn't apply anymore. He hasn't had a chance to do a lot on the field but what he has done has just been ok. Lots in his year have stepped up and are now poised to become top 20 or better players in the comp. Think Bont, Cripps. Or become A Graders with time think McCarthy, Kelly, Billings or just very good players think McDonald, Aish, Salem, Kolos x2. Even Langdon and Marsh look potentially better players now.

I don't say that to knock Shaz but just to dampen expectation. The odds favour now him becoming a solid AFL player rather than a star. No matter what way we roll it the foot injury then 2 ACLs sap potential.

Weren't People saying the same thing about Cripps after his 1st Season?
